High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

Damian Lillard (vs LAL – $8,600): Needs 41.1 fantasy points. The Blazers could go one of two ways. Either they have another great regular season and respond to their poor playoff performance. Or they are a mess coming out of the gate and big changes are on the horizon. Fortunately, they’re facing a team that has a lot to figure out. The Blazers have consistency, which counts for something. And Lillard is the key to that consistency. He’ll put up numbers and I have no doubt about his ability to carry the team. Diagnosis: Look for Lillard to make a statement and come out hot. Especially if he’s up against Rajon Rondo, who hasn’t played regular season defense in a decade.

John Wall (vs MIA – $8,200): Needs 39.2 fantasy points. Speaking of teams that are a mess. Much like Lillard, I have no doubt about Wall’s ability to put up numbers. He’s the straw that stirs the Wizards drink and he’ll get points and assists. Miami somehow lost to the Magic, have to travel, and are on a back-to-back. Things are aligning well for Washington, specifically Wall, to have a big game. Diagnosis: Has the highest ceiling of any point guard not named Ben Simmons. And I like the matchup against a tired Miami team.

Kris Dunn (at PHI – $6,600): Needs 30.3 fantasy points. Is Kris Dunn any good? I have no idea. He played well in games last season and put up some good numbers. But he was inconsistent and this salary feels way too high. Especially against a Sixers team playing at home. Someone has to put up numbers on Chicago, but they have a lot of guys who can put up numbers. I have no idea what to make of the Bulls this season. Diagnosis: I see no reason to take him.
