High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Goran Dragic (at WAS – $6,000): Needs 28.7 fantasy points. Dragic finished with 39 fantasy points against the Magic. I’m worried about him and Miami on the back-to-back, but I also have no clue what to make of Washington just yet. Dragic is as inconsistent as they come and typically follows up a good game with a not so good game. He’s a risk, but the upside is there. Diagnosis: You’ve been warned.

Lonzo Ball (at POR – $5,400): Needs 25.8 fantasy points. Ball and Rondo are at similar salaries, but Ball is slightly cheaper. I’m not sure how the point guard rotation will shake out in Los Angeles, which has me wary about recommending either player. Both have double-double potential and Ball does chip in with defense. But I need to see the Lakers in action before I can make a firm decision on them. Diagnosis: High risk due to unknowns, but has the potential to at least give you value.

Austin Rivers (vs MIA – $4,400): Needs 20.2 fantasy points. Scott Brooks loves scoring guards off the bench and he’s going to love Rivers. Rivers is better than given credit for and he’s definitely a guy who can get points and assists. Against a tired Miami team, Rivers’ ability to get hot off the bench could be a huge advantage. And he’s at a nice salary. Diagnosis: I like the matchup, I think he’ll be used in a way that maximizes his talent, and I’m higher on Rivers than most. He’s a good fantasy backup on a good salary.
