High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,250

CJ McCollum (vs LAL – $7,100): Needs 32.6 fantasy points. Much like Lillard, I’m not concerned about how McCollum will perform. I’m more concerned with how they will perform as a team. McCollum will get points and knock down threes. Because the Lakers could be spotty on the defensive end, Lillard and McCollum could have big scoring nights. Diagnosis: A fairly reliable player against a good matchup. The salary might be a little too rich for what you’ll get out of him.

Bradley Beal (vs MIA – $6,800): Needs 29.9 fantasy points. I like him more than McCollum simply because he’s a better player against a more favorable matchup. Beal is a more reliable scorer, for the most part, than McCollum and can do more in other areas. Both are reliant on their scoring, which is the worrying part. Diagnosis: A better option than McCollum due to the lesser salary. Similar potential.

Zach LaVine (at PHI – $6,400): Needs 29.4 fantasy points. I have no clue what to expect out of LaVine. The talent is there, but he’s been hurt by injuries and I’m not sure if he’ll ever reach the potential he once had. The Bulls are a weird mix and going up against an excellent Philadelphia team. Diagnosis: Not worth the risk on opening night, unless you’re playing a risky lineup.
