High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

JJ Redick (vs CHI – $5,400): Needs 22.2 fantasy points. Redick was a slight miss on Tuesday, but it wasn’t for a lack of chances. He simply had an off-shooting night, which happens. Don’t give up on him yet, especially given the matchup and with what we saw from Markelle Fultz. Redick may continue to come off the bench, but he’ll get shots and there’s reason to think he’ll find his rhythm with the Sixers back at home. Diagnosis: Reliable option against a good matchup. He’ll bounce back.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (at POR – $5,000): Needs 20.5 fantasy points. KCP is one of the few guys on the Lakers with a reliable three-point shot, which means he’s likely to play big minutes alongside LeBron. He was sneakily good last season and could be just as good this season with the best player in the world on his team. It’s a good salary for a guy who can hit wide open shots. Diagnosis: Should give you value if nothing else.

Austin Rivers (vs MIA – $4,000): Needs 16.4 fantasy points. Scott Brooks loves utilizing a scoring guard off the bench and he loves playing an all-bench unit. Rivers might be left to his own devices on the second unit and that’s good news for potential owners. Rivers is better than given credit for as he can score and be a playmaker. Diagnosis: A nice low-cost option who has the potential to put up big numbers if Scott Brooks does what Scott Brooks typically does.
