FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – October 18, 2018
High Value PF
Players costing $6,667 or under
Dario Saric (vs CHI – $5,900): Needs 23.4 fantasy points. Saric had a rough start to the season, but part of that was the game plan and the other part was the Celtics being a very good basketball team. The Bulls are not quite as good. Saric should be able to have a bounce-back performance against an easy matchup. Diagnosis: Trust the matchup and take advantage of his lowered salary. Still has a high ceiling and we’re talking about the Bulls here.
Bobby Portis (at PHI – $5,700): Needs 22.6 fantasy points. I don’t trust anyone on the Bulls and I have no clue how Portis fits in with Wendell Carter in town. But he’s proven to have a high ceiling and I never trust rookies on opening night. That’s why I don’t hate Portis on Thursday. Especially with Lauri Markkanen out. Portis should be able to pick up enough points and rebounds to hit value. Diagnosis: Decent option with some upside. But it’s tough to trust anyone on the Bulls if they play like many expect them to play.
Al-Farouq Aminu (vs LAL – $5,600): Needs 22.2 fantasy points. Aminu was one of the few bright spots for the Blazers in the playoffs last season. He’s expected to take on a bigger role with Ed Davis no longer there. At his best, he’s knocking down 3-pointers and chipping in with rebounds. At his worst, he’s nearly invisible on the court. He should provide enough rebounding and some points to at least hit value. If his shot is falling, he could be a huge steal on the night. Diagnosis: Good option at the salary. Could play a bigger role this season in Portland and might be a slight matchup problem for the Lakers.
