The undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to Purdue with the goal of taking down the upstart Boilermakers this Saturday.
Up to this point in the season, the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes are the Big Ten’s best hope for the conference to get a team into the College Football Playoffs. Through the first half of the year, the Buckeyes are the best team in the conference. There are other good teams, but Ohio State is the best at the moment. This weekend, the Buckeyes are headed up to West Lafayette, Indiana to face a Purdue team that has found new life.
The Boilermakers could not have had a worse start to the year. Purdue lost their first three games of the season and lost all three of those games by a total of eight points. Since then, the Boilermakers have bounced back in stunning fashion, tearing through their last three foes. Purdue has won their last three games by a combined total of 70 points. Can Purdue challenge Ohio State at home this weekend?
Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins has been the engine that has made the Buckeyes move up and down the field. Haskins is playing at an unreal level right now, completing 72.3 percent of his passes for 2331 yards and 28 touchdowns against just four interceptions. Purdue will also have to account for the duo of J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber who have combined for 968 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
Purdue is going to have to hope that David Blough will be able to match Haskins and Ohio State’s offense. Blough has been good this season, completing 68.4 percent of his passes throwing for 1695 yards and 10 touchdowns. D.J. Knox has done a good job of complimenting Blough by running for 540 yards and five touchdowns this year.

Prediction: The Buckeyes are just too much for the Boilermakers to truly match. While the Boilermakers have done a great job of turning things around as of late and have produced a truly great offense over the past three weeks, asking them to beat the Buckeyes is a ridiculously unfair task. Expect Purdue to scare OSU’s fans some, but go ahead and pick the Buckeyes to win.
