USC and Utah square off in a pivotal Pac-12 South showdown on Saturday night.

Two Pac-12 teams meet in primetime this weekend when the USC Trojans take on the Utah Utes. Both teams have the same records at 4-2 and the winner of this game could be vying for a conference championship bid while the other could be headed for a .500 or below season. This is the fifth conference game for both teams.

USC got off to a rocky start that included a 37-14 blowout loss to Texas, which dropped them out of the Top 25. Since then, the Trojans have won three straight and are sitting at first place in the Pac-12 South. Quarterback J.T. Daniels looks like he has USC offense back on track, leading a passing attack that is averaging 255.3 yards per game. The Trojans’ rush defense has risen to the challenge as well, surrendering just 151.8 yards per game on the ground. Utah is a tough opponent at home and if USC wants to put themselves in the driver’s seat in the Pac-12 South, a win is crucial this week.

Utah took care of their first two non-conference opponents with ease but struggled in Pac-12 play early. The Utes lost to ranked Washington by 14 and lost a heart-breaker to Washington State on the road 28-24. However, Utah pulled off a statement win two weeks ago; upsetting No. 14 Stanford 40-21. They followed up with a dominant win over Arizona and are now third in the South just behind USC. Quarterback Tyler Huntley has Utah rolling offensively, leading an attack averaging 220.8 yards per game. Utah is also one of the best run defenses in the Pac-12, surrendering an average of only 74.8 yards per game on the ground.

With two teams battling for supremacy in the Pac-12 South, this game is a must-see for this week. This one will be televised on the Pac-12 Network and can be streamed on Pac-12 Networks Live. As an alternative, fans of both teams can stream this game on Fubo TV with a paid subscription.
