Week 7: Thursday Night Football DraftKings Advice
Welcome back readers of Fantasy CPR! Thursday Night Football’s low-scoring affair is between the Denver Broncos and the Arizona Cardinals. Vegas has the over/under at 42.5 as Denver is favored by 1.5-points. This slate is an absolute disaster, I am playing extremely small tonight as I could see this game going multiple ways tonight as I do not love this slate at all.
Let’s get to the plays:
Thursday Night Football Captain Plays:
Cash Games:
Phillip Lindsay, DEN ($11,400) – You do not run on the Rams, which likely why Lindsay only saw four carries last week. However, Lindsay is the running back that Denver trust the most and I love him in this matchup against the Cardinals. The Cardinals have allowed the most rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs so far this season. He’s also got favorable game script, which should help the Broncos offense get back on track on Thursday Night Football. Lindsay is averaging only 10 carries a week, but the Broncos have lost each of their last four games and in the games they’ve won he’s seen at least 15 rush attempts. I love Lindsay to score a touchdown this week and gain over 70-yards on the ground.
Tournaments:
Royce Freeman, DEN ($8,400) – I really like Denver’s running game on Thursday, and I have no issue against playing both of them in the same lineup against the team that has given up the most touchdowns to opposing running back so far this season. Freeman is averaging around 10 carries a game, while that isn’t a lot, Denver is favored in this game and should be able to run the ball fairly easily tonight. I like using Freeman in tournament’s at the captain spot in order to get all the other guys into our lineup. Play the Denver running game on Thursday Night Football!
Thursday Night Football Cash Games:
Emmanuel Sanders, DEN ($10,800) – Sanders is as safe as they come in this spot. I thought about him pretty heavily for the captain spot. I think a lot of people are going to go there tonight, which is fine but I like my roster construction better with the other two I have listed above. Sanders is good for between 7 to 14 targets in each game so far this season. I don’t think he’s going to see 14 targets tonight, but I definitely think Sanders is a focal point for Case Keenum tonight. Look for Sanders to be one of the most popular players on tonight’s slate.
David Johnson, ARI ($11,200) – People are just going to go here based on the name recognition. I’m not sure exactly what the Cardinals offense is doing this year, as they have not featured their offense around David Johnson yet this season. I like David Johnson, could see not playing him but in cash games, I am definitely going to be playing him more as a block though. Johnson’s just not getting the touches that I would like to see in order to pay this price for him and right now his production is tied to touchdown production. If he doesn’t score, he’s likely not going to pay of this tag and it’s honestly really sad. Johnson is one of the best running backs in the league, being massively under-utilized.
Thursday Night Football Tournaments:
Christian Kirk, ARI ($7,200) – Kirk has quickly turned into Arizona’s most productive wide receiver. Kirk has the most upside on this slate as he is the most likely out of this receiving core to break a long one. Although, he has yet to do that this season, Kirk is seeing a steady 5 to 8 targets a game and could capitalize in this spot. However, Kirk has only found the end zone in one game so far this season. I like Kirk for Thursday Night Football but he has yet to have an absolute breakout performance.
Kickers – Kickers have taken down the last two millionaire makers on DraftKings for these showdown slates. In this low-scoring affair, team might be settle for long field goals compared to touchdowns. This could lead to kickers being in the highest scoring lineup on the slate again. I love loading up on the kickers as at their price they have a really safe floor and a high ceiling. Don’t know if we have to do double kicker in cash, however I think the strategy is viable.
Ricky Seals- Jones, ARI ($4,000) – Denver has not been great v. the tight end position so far this season, they are in the top-half of the league in yards allowed to the tight end position. Seal-Jones has been getting the work and could get around 7-10 DraftKing Points, which could be enough at this price to get you up towards the top of the leaders at just $4,000. At just $4,000, while the production hasn’t been there, Seal-Jones has gotten 31 targets through the first 6 weeks of the season.
Good luck readers of FantasyCPR! Take down a tournament!
