High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Lou Williams (vs OKC – $6,400): Needs 26.8 fantasy points. Williams had a rough night against the Nuggets, but I expect him to bounce back against the Thunder. OKC has some issues with their shooting guard spot and Williams always seems to play well against them. He averaged 39.2 fantasy points against OKC last season in three games. Diagnosis: Trust him to bounce back against a positionally weak Thunder team. He’s too good of a scorer to underperform the way he did against the Nuggets.

Marcus Smart (at TOR – $5,000): Needs 20.9 fantasy points. Smart had just 13.1 fantasy points on opening night. His game doesn’t always translate to DFS because he’s not a big scorer and tough defense doesn’t earn fantasy points. But his game does translate against good opponents and the Raptors are definitely good. I expect to see the best version of Smart on Friday, which means putting up enough numbers to hit value and surprising people. Diagnosis: This just feels like a Marcus Smart game.

Joe Harris (vs NY – $4,300): Needs 18 fantasy points Harris is good coming off the bench and he’s even better as a starter. The Knicks played better than anyone could have expected against the Hawks, but they were playing the Hawks. The Nets aren’t worlds better, but they do have more talent. Harris is an outstanding scorer who has taken on more of play-making role in the starting lineup. Diagnosis: This salary feels way too low given how Harris has done as a starter in game one and the end of last season. The matchup is also a good one.
