Main’s Mavericks – Week 7 DraftKings NFL GPP Sleeper Picks

Main’s Mavericks is providing weekly Draftkings NFL DFS GPP contest advice by searching out low-salary, boom-or-bust plays destined to outperform value. As a general rule for this article, I target players below $5,000. My goal is to pick value plays who I believe can exceed 4-5 times their value (EX: $5,000 player x 4 = 20DK Pts). I will be using all of my picks in Week 7 DraftKings NFL GPP tournaments as boom-or-bust punt options. Saving on these volatile players will allow you to pay-up for superstars when building that Week 7 DraftKings NFL $1,000,000 lineup.

Highlight from Week 6 Mains Mavericks

QB Sam Darnold 5,300 vs IND – 19.00 DK points (3.5x value)

RB Ito Smith 3,100 vs TBB – 10.10 DK points (3x value)

WR Adam Humphries 3,200 @ ATL – 11.20 DK points (3x value)

TE CJ Uzomah 3,000 vs PIT – 11.40 DK points (3x value)

Week 7 DraftKings NFL DFS GPP Sleeper Picks

QB:

Derek Anderson 4,300 @ IND

Anderson is dirt-cheap for a QB, and he will be going up against a Colts team that is really struggling on the defensive side of the ball. A Derek Anderson, LeSean McCoy, Charles Clay stack could win you $1,000,000. I guarantee only you me and 8 other people who read this and don’t vomit in their mouths. The last time Anderson started an NFL game was in 2016. He did not have incredible DFS success in those starts, but I believe 20 DK points is attainable for the cheapest QB on the board.

RB:

Kerryon Johnson 4,500 @ MIA

Johnson is a great play this week if Theo Riddick sits out with injury (Riddick did not practice Wednesday). If Riddick plays, then I may look elsewhere. Johnson has led the team in snaps the past 2 games, and it looks like Matt Patricia and the coaching staff is comfortable with Johnson getting a healthy share of touches. Game flow will dictate Kerryon’s upside, but $4,500 is far too cheap for the Lions lead back.

Peyton Barber 3,800 vs CLE

Barber’s price has not caught up to his production yet. The rookie back received an opportunity last week and looks to have secured himself the starting job. On 17 touches, Barber had over 100 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. That was good for 20.60 DK points for those keeping track. Barber’s snap share is trending up, jumping from 49% in week 4 to 62% for week 6. He is definitely worth a play.

WR:

Marquise Goodwin 4,800 vs LAR

Beatherd and Goodwin have developed some chemistry over the past 3 weeks. Goodwin is the Beatherd’s go-to deep and red-zone threat. I like that combo. Although Goodwin has only caught 9 passes over the past 3 weeks, he has 3 TDs and almost 200 yards. The Rams are an offensive Juggernaut, so Beatherd is going to have to look for Goodwin a lot on Sunday to keep up with LA.

Antonio Callaway 4,300 vs TB

Tampa Bay may have the worst safeties in the entire NFL. Callaway has the speed and size to blow the top of any defense. When a defense throws out a rookie and 2nd year safety that clearly are lost in technique as well as athleticism, offensive coordinators start salivating. Higgins is questionable to play. If Higgins sits, then Callaway will be in 100% of my lineups. I love a Browns-Bucs stack this week.

TE:

Charles Clay 2,800 @ IND

I am saving you so much money that you can probably have Gurley and McCaffrey in your lineup! A Buffalo Bills stack with some studs seems like a perfect leverage play. Why should you play Clay? Well, Derek Anderson is 35 years old. Who knows how far he can still throw. Also, Anderson has only worked with these WRs for a couple of weeks. WRs are fast. Its much easier to hit a slow-moving or stationary target like Charles Clay. You have to risk it for the biscuit, and this Buffalo stack has upside written all over it.
