NFL DFS: Week 7 FanDuel Cash Plays (1PM Only)
Got your main slate NFL DFS lineups all set and looking for a good reason to avoid tinkering with them? Make some more lineups on some smaller slates!! This article will focus on the top cash game plays for the 1PM only slate on Fanduel.
Welcome to the week seven edition of NFL DFS Fanduel Cash Plays for the early slate from FantasyCPR. This piece will give us a solid look at how to attack our cash games for the seven-game, 1PM only slate on Fanduel.
For the newbies, cash games are simply the games in the lobby that are 50/50 or close to that to win. These are basically all of the games other than the tournaments and guaranteed prize pool tournaments (GPP’s). Head-to-Head’s (H2H), 50/50, and double-ups would best summarize cash games.
Let’s continue by saying this, if you don’t like chalk, these slates are not for you. This article highlights who the top options are in my opinion, and whether they are popular plays or not is not any of my concern. I am just trying to give you a good starting point and a few plays to build around. With that said, let’s move along to see how week 5 was to me.
Week 6 Recap:
I am big fan of transparency, and I will be the first to admit I do not always get them right. But I think if you appreciate the conclusions I come to by you doing further research yourself, then I know you will be back for another read. Again, I am always here to help so reach out to me on Twitter, and that sample lineup is just a SAMPLE cash lineup. Regardless, I will play it every week, and we will track it right here!
QB – Andy Dalton – Cincinnati Bengals – $7,500
RB – Melvin Gordon III – Los Angeles Chargers – $8,800
RB – Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers – $8,400
WR – Calvin Ridley – Atlanta Falcons – $6,700
WR – Tyler Boyd – Cincinnati Bengals – $6,300
WR – Doug Baldwin – Seattle Seahawks – $6,200
TE – Cameron Brate – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – $4,500
FLEX – Joe Mixon – Cincinnatti Bengals – $7,500
DEF – Carolina Panthers – $3,900
Above is last week’s sample lineup. While most of the chalk was mostly faded chalk, My 5-15% guys did not perform up to my expectations. After two weeks of the sample lineup easily cashing in the 100-man 50/50’s, I am sad to say it took an “L” last week. 128.66 came up just short in my 50/50’s as I finished somewhere between 57th and 63rd. It didn’t help much that my 5% QB Dalton came up well short of my expectations, as well as my low owned receivers in Ridley and Baldwin. Also whiffed on the Panthers defense just to get it all out there. Anyways, it was bound to happen soon, but I am ready to right the ship, so let’s dig in to week seven.
NFL DFS: Week 6 FanDuel Cash Plays (1PM Only)
QB – Kirk Cousins – Minnesota Vikings – $8,000
I was actually considering paying down for Trubisky in cash games, but that may be a bit risky. Albeit a home game for the Bears, the Patriots have been playing better and better on both sides of the ball as the season progress which is scary to me. I still like Trubisky as a GPP play, but Cousins will be the play, and to be honest, I have no idea where the chalk will fall. We could see a little Jameis Winston, and a case can be made for Matthew Stafford. I see it a little different, so here is why.
We already know that Dalvin Cook is ruled out for this one, which means more Latavius Murray. While the Vikings could succeed with the run game this weekend, at this point it looks like the Jets will be missing a starting safety and possibly two top cornerbacks. If this is the case, look for both Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs to be very productive once again. The Jets defense is currently ranked 22nd against the pass as it is, so these injuries should no doubt pave the way for huge game for this Vikings passing attack.
***Also Consider – Mitchell Trubisky – $7,500***
RB – Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers – $8,000
As much as I hate this play this week, this slate is kind of missing some pop at the running back position. However, $8K is still too cheap for McCaffrey. One thing is for sure, the Panthers offensive coaching staff usually decides how they want to feature CMC, whether it be through the ground or the air. This week, Carolina will travel to Philly to face the Eagles, so it will likely be tough for him to get anything going on the ground in this one. However, my guess is that he will be heavily involved in the passing game. This is chalk that I am just going to eat this week, as this shorter slate is missing the top RB’s in the game
RB – LeSean McCoy – Buffalo Bills – $6,200
If you think I hate playing McCaffrey, this is even worse. Truthfully, I drafted a bunch of Chris Ivory in Best Balls and season-long, with the thought that McCoy was facing a huge suspension. No need to go into it, and unfortunately we play DFS to have fun and win a few bucks. Therefore, regardless of my personal opinion of a player, I won’t let it cloud my judgement. (Unless it’s Julio). With that said, I am guessing McCoy will be a pretty popular play this week.
Derek Anderson will be taking over at the helm for these Bills, and my thought is that he will have to rely heavily on McCoy out of the backfield to have a chance. This Colts defense is pretty bad, and if any game will prove whether or McCoy has anything left in the tank or not, it is this one. This price is just too low. By default he should be able to pick up 50 yards in the air and 50 on the ground here given the circumstances. It certainly feels like more chalk to eat for cash games.
***Just announced: Carlos Hyde to be traded to Jacksonville. This should make Nick Chubb at $4,800 a lock***
***Also Consider (or flex) – Sony Michel $7,300, Duke Johnson Jr. $5,100***
NFL DFS: Week 6 FanDuel Cash Plays (1PM Only)
WR – Adam Thielen – Minnesota Vikings – $8,700
It’s really hard not to continue to root for this guy. From a small D2 school in Minnesota to an undrafted free agent given a chance, Thielen has blossomed into one of the best wide receivers in the league. His name is already comes up in MVP conversations, as he is on pace to break Marvin Harrison‘s all-time receptions record. Just in case you still aren’t paying attention to what he is doing, Thielen has been targeted 79 times this season through six games. As it sits right now, he is looking for his seventh straight 100-yard-game, and build on his insane 58-712-4 line. This Jets secondary will likely be missing three starters, so I am all in on this Vikings stack, as I mentioned previously with Cousins.
WR – Jarvis Landry – Cleveland Browns – $6,500
It’s been a disappointing start to the season for Browns new number one wide-out Jarvis Landry, but a match-up with the leagues worst pass defense in Tampa Bay could be just what he needs to get back on track. With the Bucs slightly favored in this one being the home team, and an over/under of 51, signs point to the point Browns getting active more with their passing game. I like this play even more now that Hyde has been traded, as the Browns are ready to start the Nick Chubb era in Cleveland. The Bucs have actually been pretty good against the run, so don’t expect Chubb to have a career day here, things look much better for Landry and tight end David Njoku.
WR – Taylor Gabriel – Chicago Bears – $5,900
With the news that Hyde will be traded and will likely not accrue points this week, this Gabriel value play really isn’t needed any longer, but I will still make a point here. Consider it a GPP freebie if you will. Gabriel has been fantastic for the Bears over the last three games, catching everything thrown his way. He has received 22 targets in that span, making 18 catches. He is coming off of back-to-back 100-yard-games, and he should stay involved here as the Bears will try to keep pace with the Patriots. I like this play almost more than Landry, but I don’t think I will make the pivot in cash games. The match-up for Landry is just too good.
***Also Consider (or flex) – Stefon Diggs $7,600, Albert Wilson $5,600, Keelan Cole $5,500***
TE – David Njoku – Cleveland Browns – $5,700
No other way to put it, the Buccaneers defense has been bad against the pass. While Landry is the possession guy running short routes, the versatile threat in this receiving corps is surprisingly the freakish tight end Njoku. Standing at 6’4″ and having a great combination of size and speed, it is starting to look like the Browns may have actually broken the stretch of horrible drafting. With the 22-year-old Njoku, rookie QB Baker Mayfield, and now rookie RB Nick Chubb all starting for this team now, the future starts this week for the Browns. Njoku leads the team in targets over the last two games with 22, and it looks as though he is becoming one of Mayfields favorite targets.
***Also Consider – Trey Burton $6,000***
NFL DFS: Week 6 FanDuel Cash Plays (1PM Only)
DEF – Jacksonville Jaguars – $4,400
What looked to be a defense that would easily contend to be one of the best in the NFL has not looked anywhere near that the last two weeks. Both games were on the road however, and one against the best offense in the league in the Chiefs, so the 64 points they have allowed over those two games does not have me concerned in the slightest. The Jags return home as four point favorites to face the turnover prone Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans. I look for Jacksonville to get Watson often in this one, as the Texans offensive line has allowed the second most sacks in the NFL. Pay up for the Jags in cash games, save the Bills pivot for GPP’s.
***Also Consider: Buffalo Bills $3,400***
