High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Klay Thompson (at DEN – $6,300):Needs 25.6 fantasy points. It’s very weird to watch Thompson struggle given how good of a shooter he is. Because of that, it’s tough to believe he’s going to continue down this path. Getting shots is not an issue for Thompson. At some point, they are going to go in. Given the Nuggets defense and them being on a back-to-back, it feels like this would be a good time for Thompson to get those shots to fall. He’s helping himself with his rebounding, but the three needs to go down for him to reach his value. Diagnosis: You can consider him a risk based on the first two games. But remember, this is one of the best shooters in the league getting good looks. They’ll go in at some point.

Gary Harris (vs GS – $6,000):Needs 24.4 fantasy points. With Will Barton out, Harris is going to need to step up for the Nuggets. He had 36.8 fantasy points against the Suns on Saturday, but that was against the Suns. The Warriors are obviously a tougher game. Still, Harris has proven in the past that he’s a nice scoring option on the wing for Jokic and he chips in with rebounds and assists. Diagnosis: The injury to Barton means more opportunities for a guy like Harris. His ceiling has been raised as a result.

Eric Gordon (at LAC – $5,700):Needs 23.3 fantasy points. As of this writing, it’s not confirmed that Chris Paul will be suspended for the altercation against the Lakers, but it seems likely. If he’s unable to play, Gordon will likely start and play a bigger role in the offense. We saw Gordon step up all throughout last season when Paul was out and he’ll have the opportunity to do it again against the Clippers. Diagnosis: Circumstances say he’s in for a big night as he’ll play the role of Chris Paul and do a fine job at doing so.
