NBA DFS Picks –  MME Strategy and Player Pool for October 21st

Welcome to what will be a daily NBA DFS MME player pool and mass multi entry strategy for both Draftkings and FanDuel.

There are a couple of different ways to approach NBA DFS MME – one way is to just put a few DFS NBA lineups in a bunch of tournaments, a strategy I do not recommend. The other is to be selective in the tournaments and enter those with the maximum lineups allowed. While everyone dreams of taking down a GPP with a life changing prize pool, my focus is on maximizing the number of entries that are competitive and finishing above the cash line and turning a profit on a more consistent basis. You will hear a lot about building a core group of players and building your lines around it but with MME this is hardly the case.

The goal is to create a player pool of both low and high risk plays, limiting exposure to the high risk plays and using a lineup tool (free or premium works). Using the csv edit option on both sites is the easiest way to enter in all your lineups once you have generated and here are links on how to do this – Fanduel CSV  Draftkings CSV. With that being said, let’s get to our pool for tonight.

Looking at the first game on the slate there is opportunity for salary saving plays. The Atlanta Hawks are just awful on defense and this bodes well for the likes of Kevin Love and Cedi Osman. I love Tristan Thompson here if Larry Nance remains out and certainly, on a 4 game slate, we need exposure to Jordan Clarkson. On the other side of the ball, there are really only two guys worth rostering – Trae Young and Taurean Prince. This game has the potential for a blowout, but I think the Hawks keep it close enough for fantasy purposes.

Moving on to the Sacramento Kings vs the Oklahoma City Thunder we find more opportunity to pivot from the two late games.  Paul George and Steven Adams are the 2 main guys tonight for me from the Thunder. Include Dennis Schroder in the pool but limit his exposure tonight and move down to De’Aaron Fox. This kid is good, real good and he has added strength and mass coming into this year. He pushes the tempo and will have plenty of opportunities to score and dish out some dimes. Hold back expectations for Marvin Bagley because it is going to be a real up and down for him this year. Keep his exposure to a bare minimum tonight. Look to Buddy Hield and Jerami Grant to fill out this matchup.

We need to keep an eye out for the injury news around Will Barton. He went down in the third quarter last night with a hip injury but was able to walk to the showers on his own in obvious pain. He is slated for an MRI today so I doubt he suits up. Look for Gary Harris and Jamal Murray to pick up the slack here. Fresh off a triple double we have Nikola Jokic. He is in a favorable spot but I will limit exposure here as well and pivot to Paul Millsap. On a four game slate, we need to be creative with our player pools and this is a spot to do so. We will obviously ad Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson (who I think will crush value tonight).

Headed into the final game of the night, we get the Rockets in a back to back versus the Clippers. Aside from Chris Paul (ejected last night for throwing punches) and James Harden, I love Tobias Harris again, He has seen 78 minutes in hist first two games recording 2 double doubles and hitting 6x value for fantasy purposes. Against this Rockets team he should be able to continue this trend. The usual suspects are in play here which includes Danillo Gallinari, Lou Williams, Eric Gordon, Carmelo Anthony (great bench spot for him tonight), and Boban Marjanovic who should continue providing over 1 fantasy point per minute in his limited (18 to 20) minutes a game.

On small slates such as this it is OK to game stack and stack more than 2 from the same team but remember, we aren’t looking for massive variance, the goal as always is to finish in the green.
