FanDuel NBA DFS Cash Games Tier Breakdown – Monday Oct 22
FanDuel NBA DFS Cash Games Tier Breakdown – Monday Oct 22
Welcome back guys and gals, I’m excited to get back into NBA after a fun NFL weekend. I’ll will be breaking down my NBA DFS Cash Games plays on FanDuel. We’ve got a very interesting slate tonight. There’s a bunch of blowout potential in these games, so I would definitely take that into account in you cash games tonight. There’s a bunch of guys that are in great spots but if games blowout they won’t get the minutes a want to pay for their price. I might be leaning worse match-ups for more secure minutes while hedging in my GPPs to get these guys in case the games stay close.
As always give me a follow on twitter if you want to receive updates on the slate as late news starts rolling in @dfs_joey. I will do my best to predict some rotations but we don’t always know for sure until closer to lock. This is more of a first look with most plays staying the same, but value always opens up closer to lock to always make sure you are monitoring news and I’ll try my best to get that news and analysis out as it comes.
Monday FanDuel NBA cash Slate
Point Guard
Top Tier
John Wall 9.8k: Steph Curry will probably be in a blowout game even though the spread doesn’t make it seem like that. He’s in a great matchup but hard to trust he will play a ton in the 4th. So I will be looking towards John Wall who is probably the best true point guard in the league right now. This will be a tough competition against one of the other top 5 point guards in the league. He should be able to put up a large amount of points. The Wizards likes to up the pace they always get a ton of fast break points so this could be a high assist game for Wall.
Middle Tier
Lonzo Ball 6.8k With Rajon Rondo out Ball will have to step into the starting role. He’s a little pricey I was hoping he would be a little cheaper because he’s been the backup point guard this entire time. He’s finds himself in a great matchup with the Spurs who’s point guards are all hurt. I will try to attack them a bunch until they have one of their normal rotation guys back playing point back.
Cheap Tier
I could see taking some nice shots at value with playing some backups in these blowout games but for cash I wouldn’t take that chance.
Bryn Forbes 4.3k: He should get the start again. I’m all about this game. It should be a high scoring game and I want to get a bunch of exposure. I’m not extremely comfortable with the play but he will be able to get you the 5x you need in with the Lakers being thin at guard.
Shooting Guard
Top Tier
Jimmy Butler 9.6k: He’s coming off a rest game and hasn’t played since the 19th he should be very fresh to go here. The only thing that scares me about this play is that he might see Victor Oladipo for some of this game. Oladipo is one of the best 2 way players in the league and his defense in nothing to ignore. I think Butler is good enough in the other minutes to get you to the 50 points you need to hit value. His Defensive stats give him a great boost in floor.
Middle Tier
Josh Hart 5.8k: Hart has been playing big minutes to start the year and that should increase to even more with Rondo suspended. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope does not deserve to start over Hart, and the minutes show that. Hart should continue his success tonight in what should be a fun game tonight against the Spurs and I will have a lot of exposure on the Lakers side of the ball.
Cheap Tier
Austin Rivers 3.8k: I’m not currently looking to go super cheap at SG (unless injury news) but I like the upside in Rivers. This should be a great game and stay close all game. They love his scoring off the bench, they need him to help score especially when Beal is off the floor. I would love to see a little more from the peripherals but with his scoring potential I love his upside.
Small Forward
Top Tier
Lebron James 11.8k: He’s the most obvious play on the board. With Rondo out Lebron will be the only leader on the floor. Rondo was eating into Lebrons usage rate and assist upside. He should be able to get back to his old 30 point triple double watch with Rondo is suspended and will be a lock for me going forward. There shouldn’t be much need to convince you on this play, you guys were probably all in on him before even opening the article.

Middle Tier
Andrew Wiggins 6.6k: he’s continued to show that he can produce in fantasy. I was never really a fan of him in cash last year but I’ve been all over him this year. He killed me game but that was due to fouling out and only playing 27 minutes. He’s averaging around a fantasy point per minute and that is perfect for a guy who will play 35+ minutes at 6.6k. This game should stay close and high scoring.
Cheap Tier
Dorian Finney-Smith 4.3k: Play DFS in DFS! I’m really hoping Harrison Barnes sits one more game because I really love this play. This game will have no defense and he will be matched up against Justin Holiday who will be exposed. If Stanley Johnson was shooting well last game he would have killed. Similar skill set with 30+ point upside and a nice floor in what should be a close high scoring game.
Power Forward
Top Tier
As of now I’m not looking to pay down at PF. These are my top plays at the position
LaMarcus Aldridge 8.8k: He’s primed to be the highest scoring PF in the safest matchup to play full minutes on the slate. He should see a mismatch against the Lakers who don’t have a true PF big man to be able to guard him on defense.
Middle Tier
I love just playing a bunch of midpriced guys there’s a bunch to choose from today
Jaren Jackson Jr 6.8k: if he blowout risk concerns you I would look at JJJ. He looks like he grabs the start tonight and it looks like he will be a big part of that offense. He’s able to spread the defense out being a stretch 4 which will give troubles when Favors is on him. He has great block upside as well. He should easily be able to reach cash value and has GPP upside. GPP Pivot :Jason Tatum
Kyle Kuzma 6.8k: With Brandon Ingram suspended Kuzma will play a bigger role. He was only seeing in the mid 20s minutes but with Ingram out he will be bumped up into the mid 30s minutes and his point per minutes value makes him a great play in a great game. GPP pivot: Bobby Portis
Center
Top Tier
Deandre Jordan 8.3k: He will be in a smash against the Bulls and with no defense to be had for the Chicago big man I could see him easily reaching 20 rebounds and when these guys look to drive then he has huge block upside and will see a ton of looks inside which will help with his point floor. GPP Pivot: Karl-Anthony Towns
Middle Tier
Enes Kanter 7.5k: He might not be in the best spot. This year the Bucks have been better against big men then last year but Kanter continues to prove that he can get it done on the boards and I will continue to hammer him in cash games until he lets me down. He’s a double double machine and that’s what we want from our centers. I’m still waiting for that huge block game when he becomes GPP takedown level. GPP Pivots: Jusuf Nurkic, Myles Turner
Cheap Tier
Damian Jones 4.6k: He sees consistent minutes which I love to see out of my cheap center options. He should see the blowout minutes as well. Even though he is a starter they keep him in the game if it turns into a blowout which makes his minutes secure to what they normally are. GPP Pivot: Ian Mahinmi
