Ajax face Benfica at Johan Cruijff Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Ajax and Benfica will play their first of back to back group stage games on Tuesday. The two games between the two clubs will likely determine which team advances to the knockout stage and which team plays in the Europa League. After two games, Ajax are tied for first in the group with four points after they stole a point from Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. Benfica are third in the group after they beat AEK Athens 3-2 in their last game.

Ajax are second in the Eredivisie with 22 points in their first nine games.  Erik ten Hag’s team have the ability to score in bunches but are also one of the best defensive clubs in the Netherlands. Ajax have scored 25 goals in their nine games and have conceded only four goals. Ten Hag has often started Hakim Ziyech, Dusan Tadic and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the front three, with all three players scoring regularly. In all competitions, Ziyech, Tadic and Huntelaar have combined for 26 goals in 18 games.

Benfica moved to the top of the table in Portugal after they defeated Porto in the final game before the international break. Through seven games, Benfica have picked up 17 points. The Portugese side will be extra rested ahead of Tuesday’s game after not playing over the weekend. The challenge for Benfica will be breaking down an Ajax defense that frustrated Bayern Munich. Pizzi leads the club with six goals in all competitions and will be key in Benfica’s attack as he plays behind the striker.
