High Value SG
Players costing $6,250 or under
Markelle Fultz (at DET – $4,900): Needs 22.6 fantasy points. With an injury to Ben Simmons, Fultz might see more opportunities as the lead point guard. That could go one of two ways. Either he’ll struggle with the extra pressure or he’ll have his best game as a pro. The salary is low enough and the circumstances are good for him to play well over his value. Diagnosis: He’s been a solid DFS player and will have a real opportunity to step up on Tuesday if Simmons doesn’t play.
E’Twaun Moore (vs LAC- $4,200): Needs 19.1 fantasy points. Playing time hurt Moore’s value on Oct. 19 against the Kings. As I’ve been saying with previous Pelicans players, the playing time should be back up against the Clippers. Moore is still streaky and reliant on his scoring for value, but no offense in the league is better than New Orleans right now. Diagnosis: Good value as long as he’s scoring. And chances are he’ll be scoring.
TJ McConnell (at DET – $3,800): Needs 17.5 fantasy points. Much like Fultz, if Simmons doesn’t play, McConnell is going to see more opportunities. He filled in nicely for Simmons last season, even collecting a triple-double and going over 50 fantasy points in two games. At this salary, he’s a very good option should Simmons not play. Diagnosis: Low-cost option who could get a big chance to produce with the injury to Simmons. If Simmons plays, look elsewhere.
Quick Hits
Iman Shumpert (4,200): Had a huge game on Oct. 21 against the Thunder. But the Thunder have a history of giving up big games to unsuspecting players. If you think it was more than a fluke, go for it.
