Dario Saric (at DET – $6,100): Needs 28.1 fantasy points. After a rough start against Boston, Saric has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games. If Simmons is out, Saric should play a bigger role in the offense. He wasn’t good against the Pistons last season, averaging just 20.3 fantasy points in three games. However, all three of those games were before the Blake Griffin trade. Diagnosis: The loss of Simmons should boost Saric’s value.
Nemanja Bjelica (at DEN – $4,600): Needs 21.2 fantasy points. Bjelica has been hit-and-miss this season. When he’s played, he’s been impactful. He should get minutes against the Nuggets, but he’s a risk as those minutes don’t appear to be guaranteed to start the season. Diagnosis: Risky option due to uncertainty with his minutes. But he’s a strong option if he ends up playing enough.
Stanley Johnson (vs PHI – $4,400): Needs 20.2 fantasy points. Johnson had a nice debut, producing 21.25 fantasy points against the Bulls. He started to shoot better from 3 last season, but he’s still not much of a scoring option. He’ll get you rebounds though and if Drummond is out, Johnson becomes a sneaky double-double threat. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable thanks to circumstances and Casey getting the most out of his guys.
