DraftKings European League Basketball Picks October 25

More from DFS

We have our first unbalanced round of the season in the Euroleague. 10 of the 16 teams are in action on Thursday this week leaving the other six for Friday. We have the rare expanded player pool here. How can we make it work for us?

The money line was at 147.25 DraftKings points on Friday. I slipped in by half a point thanks to Shved and Wolters and despite missing on Pleiss and Dee Bost as value picks.

The winning entry was at 188.25 DraftKings points, a staggering 18.25 points ahead of second place. He used the same anchors as me with Shved and Wolters, but hit huge value with Walter Tavares and Jordan Mickey.

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!

Guards:

The price on Alexey Shved continues to climb. He is now $14,800, or $3,200 more than anyone else on the slate. This is another good matchup for Shved with Milan on the docket. Shved has topped 40 DraftKings points in all three rounds so far. That just doesn’t happen in the EuroLeague. Fading Shved remains a huge risk.

I don’t like the matchup for Mike James or Nedovic here, so I will move down willingly to Scottie Wilbekin. Wilbekin has topped 40 DraftKings points in two of the three rounds so far, and Olympiacos is 11th out of 16 teams in fantasy points allowed to guards.

Kostas Sloukas is not the most consistent guy, but he has a really good matchup on Thursday with Efes on tap. Rodrigue Beaubois dominated Khimki, the team that has allowed the least fantasy points to guards, on Friday. This round he gets the team that has allowed the most fantasy points to guards in Fenerbahce. Look for Beaubois to have a big game in the battle of Istanbul. Krunoslav Simon looks like a strong play as well.

There are a lot of average plays in the middle tiers, but I prefer to use Shved and look for value. Nigel Williams-Goss and Stefan Jovic are nice consistent plays in the lower middle tier. Nemanja Gordic is also playing big minutes for Podgorica. Sometimes that is the best way to find middle tier value is to just look for the minutes.

With Tyler Ennis out for maybe the rest of the season, expect to see a lot more of Ali Muhammed in the Fenerbahce backcourt. Marko Guduric could pick up some extra minutes as well.

Janis Strelnieks is likely out for round 4, so Vangelis Mantzaris becomes a strong value pick. I like Nikola Ivanovic as well, but keep an eye on his status since he didn’t play last round.

Forwards:

Nikola Milutinov is the highest priced forward, and it’s hard to say he’s not worth it. Milutinov has had two dominant performances against Baskonia and Milan in the last two rounds, and has a nice matchup against the Tel Aviv front here. However, Vladimir Micov has been almost as good and matches up with a Khimki team that has been owned on the interior.

Anthony Gill has been the second leading scorer for Khimki twice in three rounds. I have a feeling many will be on the Milan frontcourt, but there is value with Gill as well, and he should be far less owned than Micov. However, Arturas Gudaitis may be the way to go. He has between 22 and 24 DraftKings points in all three rounds and should be able to eclipse that against Khimki.

It was Anthony Randolph that lost minutes with Ayon back, not Walter Tavares. If you want a Real Madrid forward, make it Tavares.

Alen Omic remains a superb mid level play for Podgorica. I like the consistent floor, which can be tough to find the the EuroLeague. Kaleb Tarczewski remains one of the better rebounders in the EuroLeague, but he never offers much else.

Jordan Mickey has carved out a role in the Khimki front, and is priced low enough to warrant a look. He is the third option on this offense, but that’s okay. There isn’t much else that I’m excited about in the value tier with the exception of Sasha Vezenkov. He has played well in limited minutes, and has a solid matchup with Tel Aviv here.
