Fantasy Basketball Picks –  MME Strategy and Player Pool for October 23rd

Welcome to what will be a daily Fantasy Basketball MME player pool and mass multi entry strategy for both Draftkings and FanDuel.

There are a couple of different ways to approach NBA DFS MME – one way is to just put a few DFS NBA lineups in a bunch of tournaments, a strategy I do not recommend. The other is to be selective in the tournaments and enter those with the maximum lineups allowed. While everyone dreams of taking down a GPP with a life changing prize pool, my focus is on maximizing the number of entries that are competitive and finishing above the cash line and turning a profit on a more consistent basis. You will hear a lot about building a core group of players and building your lines around it but with MME this is hardly the case.

The goal is to create a player pool of both low and high risk plays, limiting exposure to the high risk plays and using a lineup tool (free or premium works). Using the csv edit option on both sites is the easiest way to enter in all your lineups once you have generated and here are links on how to do this – Fanduel CSV  Draftkings CSV. With that being said, let’s get to our pool for tonight.

First thing we are going to get out-of-the-way is possible injury news. We now for a fact that Will Barton is out and now Jamal Murray is also in danger of not playing tonight. Regardless of if he plays or not, he will not be in today’s pool. We will, however, roster Monte Morris (as long as Murray sits) in his place for Denver along with Gary Harris (seems to shine when the Nuggets are depleted in the back court), Torrey Craig, Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic. Iman Shumpert is expected to get the start again tonight and should have no problem exceeding 5x value in what should be a high paced high scoring game. De’Aaron Fox , Willie Cauley-Stein, and Buddy Hield round out the plays from this game.

Andre Drummond is battling the flu and it is uncertain if he will be playing tonight. If he plays then he is obviously in the player pool and if he isn’t then we are all over Zaza Pachulia. At near minimum salary on both sites, he should see an uptick from the low 20 minutes he has gotten so far and is capable of getting near 6x value. Blake Griffin will make our pool and will look to build on his 60 fantasy point outing last time out. I expect him to finish in the 50 to 55 fantasy point range tonight whether Drummond plays or not. Reggie Jackson will be the only other Piston to make the pool. Ben Simmons is also dealing with an injury and may not play tonight. If this is the case, it is a nice bump up to TJ McConnell and Markelle Fultz. Both will be needed to fill Ben’s minutes. We will also roster  JJ Redick, Dario Saric, and Joel Embiid. I am not sold that Robert Covington can meet value tonight and thus he will not make my player pool.

Lastly, we get to Anthony Davis. On a 3 game slate like tonight, we will want 60 to 70 percent exposure to him. He is by far the best player on tonight’s slate and sometimes we just need to eat the chalk. I like both Julius Randle and Nikola Mirotic here as well. Although Elfrid Payton and Jrue holiday will be in the pool, I will have minimal exposure because I feel that there is better value at lower priced options we can build around tonight. I am expecting a bounce back game for Tobias Harris and he could be lower owned just because of his sub-par fantasy performance last time out. I still like Boban Marjanovic (if he sees 15 to 20 minutes), and Danillo Gallinari. I will let others chase the Montrezl Harrell results from last game.

The following players I have on the fence of the player pool. Chances are they will only make a lineup or 2 mostly on Fanduel as salary relief. I am not saying to not play them, just that I personally will have very minimal to zero exposure: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Amir Johnson, Reggie Bullock, Ish Smith, and Stanley Johnson.
