Is The Gifted new tonight, Oct. 23? Fans of the Marvel series might be wondering whether or not they should expect a new episode this week, given that FOX is home to postseason baseball.
The MLB postseason is in full swing, so that means there have been some programming changes on the schedule. The Gifted is not new tonight; the series isn’t even on at all, because FOX has to make space for the 2018 World Series.
Instead of finding out what’s next in the battle of the Mutant Underground vs. the Inner Circle, TV fans will be treated to the Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Dodgers in the opening game of the Fall Classic.
What does that mean for Marvel enthusiasts? It’s actually too soon to tell. The Gifted season 2 is scheduled to resume next Tuesday, Oct. 30 — but only if the World Series wraps up in five games or less.
If a sixth game is necessary, viewers will have to wait another week to pick up the story of Polaris (Emma Dumont), Eclipse (Sean Teale) and the rest of their fellow mutants. That would delay new episodes until Nov. 6.
So kick back, relax and read some X-Men comics, because it’ll be at least a week and possibly two before regular service is resumed for the Mutant Underground. However, it’ll be worth the wait, as the battle for mutant supremacy is definitely far from over.
Will Polaris and Andy Strucker (Percy Hynes White) capture the mutant that Reeva Payge (Grace Byers) is so desperate to obtain? And what’s going on with Jace Turner (Coby Bell), who’s been kind of in limbo this whole season? Audiences have a lot to find out — just not this week.
