Lethal Weapon’s next season 3 episode “Get the Picture” is only airing on FOX on Oct. 30. Now is a good time to catch up on the rest of the new season.

No new episode this week Lethal Weapon fans! But no worries as the series is returning a day before Halloween, with season 3, episode 5 “Get the Picture” on Oct. 30. Leo Getz (Thomas Lennon) made his return to the series last week, drawing good natured laughs from his co-stars for his entertaining portrayal of the character.

According to TVByTheNumbers, last week’s episode of Lethal Weapon “Leo Getz Justice” earned a 2.86 rating for FOX. About on par more or less for the rest of the season but with a noticeable linear ratings decline occurring. NBC’s This is Us was the top earner in the 9 p.m. Tuesday time slow with a 8.92 rating that’s going to be difficult to compete with for most shows.

The series naturally feels like a whole new show with the removal of Clayne Crawford and the addition of Seann William Scott in the co-leading role but fans have not quite tuned out in droves as some predicated. There are many who are loyal to Clayne’s Riggs that have taken the exit door of course. However, Lethal Weapon as a whole is still a well-known franchise that brings its own casual fanbase from the films. Seann William Scott also owns a vast fanbase tuning in to see him play Wesley Cole on the series.

The overall lasting impact when losing Martin Riggs as a character will only really be decided on at the end of the season. Of course if ratings gradually drop, Clayne might return to the series, regardless of how Riggs was written out. FOX once brought back Tony Tony Almeida to 24 after realizing they’d made an epic mis-turn in his character end. Mainly, that it should have never happened.

“Get the Picture” episode description:

"A truck filled with fine art is robbed; Cole deals with lingering feelings for Natalie; Riana blackmails Murtaugh into letting her go to a concert after she catches him in a lie."

The behind-the-scenes video above shows co-stars Kevin Rahm and Johnathan Fernandez reveling at Thomas Lennon’s entertaining performance as Leo Getz!
