15. team. 86. . . Previous: 12th. minnesota timberwolves

Given the chaos that preceded the opening to their season, a 2-2 start has to be seen as an enormous positive for the Timberwolves. However, rising above what looked like an impending meltdown doesn’t mean any of the problems have actually been solved. Like last year, their offense is very good and their defense has been terrible. Karl-Anthony Towns is fourth on the team in field goal attempts per game, tied with Jeff Teague and behind both Derrick Rose and Andrew Wiggins, that latter of whom looks like the same player he was last year.

The Timberwolves may be able to survive this rocky chemistry and float through the season a few games above .500. But that rocky chemistry would appear to lower their ceiling and neither Wiggins or Towns seem prepared to step forward with a transformational season. In short, disaster is still waiting, lurking.
