The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the World Series for the second straight year, but here are five reasons they will win it all this time around.

The Los Angeles Dodgers got over a playoff hump and made it to the World Series in 2017, but they lost to the Houston Astros in seven games. They’ll get another shot at it this year, starting Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox. The two franchises last met in the World Series back in 1916, when some guy named Babe Ruth was a pitcher for the Red Sox.

The Dodgers last won the World Series in 1988, when they upset the highly-favored Oakland A’s. That series started with one of the most dramatic moments in the history of the Fall Classic, as hobbled outfielder Kirk Gibson hit a walk-off pinch hit home run off Dennis Eckersley to cap Game 1.

The Dodgers added pieces near and after the trade deadline to bolster a potential World Series run, with Manny Machado as the most notable contributor. Machado is in line to be a rental, as he hits free agency and a huge pay day this winter, but if it pays off with a World Series ring it will be worth it for the Dodgers.

We seem headed for a lengthy and competitive World Series, and here are five reasons the Dodgers can get over the last hump and win it all.

5. Experience

Simply put, the core of the Dodgers team experienced the pressure of the World Series stage just last year. The Red Sox, on the other hand, only have Jackie Bradley Jr., Brock Holt and Dustin Pedroia (injured and unavailable) left from their last World Series team in 2013.

Pure experience in a setting can be overrated at times. But when it comes to pressure packed, tension-filled World Series moments, the Dodgers have an edge.
