3. Oregon Ducks (-9.5) at Arizona Wildcats
The Oregon Ducks are coming off of a tough loss last week. They were in control of their own destiny in the Pac-12 and, with a matchup against the Washington State Cougars, they could’ve been essentially on cruise control to winning the conference. However, things didn’t play out that way. With the Cougars being their fourth-straight ranked opponent, the Ducks went on the road and simply came up short in every single regard.
Now the Ducks go on the road against another Pac-12 opponent, this time facing the Arizona Wildcats. This most certainly isn’t the same caliber of opponent as Washington State or anyone that they’ve faced recently. However, going on the road against a team that has a talented quarterback like Arizona does with Khalil Tate is still not an easy proposition.
Aside from a win over Cal, this season has ultimately been forgettable for Tate and the Wildcats, though. They’ve lost games to BYU, Houston, USC, Utah and even UCLA. That basically puts them on the record for losing to every good team that they’ve played aside from Cal. What’s worse is that they’ve been blown out by many of them, including losing to Houston by 27 and Utah by 32.
Subsequently, it’s quite odd to see Oregon not even favored by double-digits in this game. With how potent they have proven to be thus far, they should be able to throttle a lackluster Arizona team and ultimately not break too much of a sweat. Even on the road, take the Ducks to bounce back and cover.
