2. Texas Longhorns at Oklahoma State Cowboys – Over 59.5

There is a little bit of concern coming into this game regarding the Texas Longhorns offense, specifically as it pertains to quarterback Sam Ehlinger. In Texas’ last outing two weeks ago (against the Baylor Bears), the quarterback was forced to the sidelines with an injury. As things currently stand coming into the week, it does look as if Ehlinger is going to be able to suit up and lead the Longhorns.

Whether or not that happens, however, Texas still has Shane Buechele to potentially come in as his backup. The team is lesser with Buechele at the helm of the offense, but they still aren’t a bad team in that regard. Thus, they should still be able to go on the road to face a struggling Oklahoma State Cowboys team and cover the spread.

Having said that, that’s not the best bet to come from this Big 12 matchup. When you look at these two teams, they’re two of the better offenses in the country, albeit plagued by inconsistency. More importantly, though, neither of these defenses are all that good. Subsequently, the Over/Under line being just 59.5 points seems too good to pass up.

This season, Texas and Oklahoma State average a combined 70 points per game. And while we know that both teams can score, we also have evidence that says that both defenses can be taken advantage of as the two teams concede an average of 51 points per game. When you put that all together, the Over seems like a lock.
