DraftKings Late Slate October 24, 2018

Tonight, DraftKings Night Slate has three games featuring two of the highest scoring totals on the slate and a game with recent injuries that opens up value.

On smaller slates it is important to be contrarian to boost yourself from the field.  Finding an edge on particular slate can be the difference from not cashing and taking down a tournament.

Memphis Grizzles (-3) @ Sacramento Kings (220)

Injuries: Bogdan Bogdanovic (out), JaMychal Green (out), Iman Shumpert (questionable), Garrett Temple (questionable), Dillon Brooks (doubtful), Chandler Parsons (out), Kosta Koufos (out)

Los Angeles Lakers (-4.5) @ Phoenix Suns (238)

Injuries: Brandon Ingram (suspended), Rajon Rondo (suspended)

Washington Wizards @ Golden State Warriors (-10) (234.5)

Injuries: Dwight Howard (out), Ian Mahinmi (questionable)

DraftKings Late Slate  – Guards

Tonight, I believe all the ownership will be going to the Warrior’s Stephen Curry ($9,800) and the Laker’s Lonzo Ball ($6,300), opening up lower ownership plays.

Mike Conley ($6,700) and De’Aaron Fox ($6,600): Cash and GPPS

Conley is in a high uptempo game and Fox is in a great match-up as the Grizzlies are giving up on the most points to point guards so far this season and only played 21 minutes last night.  Conley shot 6/20 last game versus the Jazz, if he keeps up that tempo he should not have a problem reaching value.

Lonzo Ball ($6,300): Cash and GPPS

Ball is taking the starting point guard spot in the place of Rajon Rondo and is not seeing a minutes restriction.  Not only is this game the highest total on the slate, the Suns are giving up one of the most points to opposing point guards. Ball could be due for a breakout game tonight.

Stephen Curry ($9,800): Cash

Curry is going up against Washington tonight and has one of the highest usage rates (28%) on the slate. Even though I believe he is fine for cash games, the blow out risk and his price keep me away from tournaments.

Isaiah Canaan ($4,300) Cash

Canaan should not have a trouble reaching value tonight if this game stays close.  There is not much upside for tournaments with his low field goal attempts, the last three games ( 3/8, 5/8, 3/10).

DraftKings Late Slate SG

The shooting guard position allows you to leverage salary and find cheaper plays with higher upside. Luckily tonight we have a few options available.

Garrett Temple ($4,000) and Frank Mason ($3,500): Cash and GPPs

Temple is going against his former team tonight. Besides the revenge game narrative, he is in an uptempo game and the Kings are giving up one of the most points to opposing shooting guards.

Mason is getting a large usage and minutes bump without Shumpert potentially being available. Mason went 6/10 and 7/13 playing 27 and 21 minutes.

Update: (5:00 PM Eastern) Temple is now listed as questionable, keep an eye on new before lock.

Josh Hart ($5,800) : Cash and GPPs

Hart has shown his upside last game going 8/14 with 10 rebounds, recording his first double double. As long as KCP is seeing low minutes, Hart is a green light for cash games with upside for tournaments.

Devin Booker ($8,300) and Bradley Beal ($7,500): Cash and GPPs

Booker and Beal make for great cash game plays tonight.  Booker is in a close game opposed to the blowout risk Beal is facing. Both players play with high usage rates, Booker (33%) and Beal (26%). If the Suns do keep the game close, Booker is going to need to show up and score a lot.

Small forward is generally another position I like to find value on.  There are some values that are available that should come with much lower ownership.

Trevor Ariza ($4,900): Cash and GPPs

If the Suns are going to keep this game close, all of their players are going to have to show up.  Ariza is in a solid bounce back spot tonight as he only went 2/12 last game and only hit 1 three pointer on his six attempts.

Kelly Oubre Jr. ($4,300): Cash and GPPs

Oubre exploded last game going 9/13 in 39 minutes. With Mahinmi and Howard out, he is in line for another great chance to exceed value tonight. Keep and eye on Mahinmi news, if out feel secure drafting Oubre at his current price.

T.J. Warren ($4,800): Cash

Warren is in another great spot tonight. Warren has one of the largest usage rates on the team at 29%, but until I see a large rise in his minutes I am going to keep him as a cash play tonight.

LeBron James ($11,100): Cash

Much like Curry, LBJ is in a great spot tonight. LBJ obviously has the highest usage rate at 29% and is in a high and tight game tonight.  The only thing that scares me off of some of the Lakers is that they are going to be higher owned, they are in a low pace game, and they play tomorrow night.

Power forward is the position that I generally spend the most money on drafting.  Tonight does not seem to be that case as there is a few value plays I am targeting the most.

Nemanja Bjelica ($4,700): Cash and GPPs

Bjelica only played 21 minutes last night and will see a bump in minutes and usage without Shumpert being available. If the Kings want to win this game, Bjelica is going to need to show up.

More from FanSided

Jaren Jackson Jr. ($5,400): Cash and GPPs

Jackson is a great play tonight if he keep his field goals in the double digits. If he can do that and make a few three pointers in the process, he can easily pay of salary tonight.

Kyle Kuzma ($6,900): Cash and GPPs

Kuzma entered the starting lineup last game with Brandon Ingram being suspended. He played a whopping 45 minutes, shot 15/25 and made 4/10 three pointers.  The Suns are also giving up one of the most points to opposing power forwards, leaving Kuzma in a juicy matchup.

Marcus Morris ($5,700): Cash

Morris is listed as the power forward position tonight, but can see time at center with the Wizards planning to go more small tonight, as well as the current injuries to Mahinmi and Howard.

DraftKings Late Slate – Centers

Center is a position where I also try and find value when available. Tonight there is one player I will be targeting very heavily in majority of my lineup builds.

JaVale McGee ($5,300): Cash and GPPs

McGee is just too cheap on Draftking to avoid playing him.  His last three games he has hit value and tonight should not change with the suspensions of Ingram and Rondo. With this game being the highest total on the slate, McGee is a play I will be loading up on.

Deandre Ayton ($7,300): Cash and GPPs

Ayton, along with every other Suns player tonight, is going to need to show up to keep this game in hand. Ayton showed a glimpse of his ceiling last game going 6/11 with 14 rebound in 31 minutes. If he does a similar performance tonight, he will easily reach value.
