Welcome to what will be a daily Fantasy Basketball player pool and mass multi entry strategy for both Draftkings and FanDuel.

Fantasy Basketball MME Strategy for October 24th

There are a couple of different ways to approach MME for Fantasy Basketball – one way is to just put a few DFS NBA lineups in a bunch of tournaments, a strategy I do not recommend. The other is to be selective in the tournaments and enter those with the maximum lineups allowed. While everyone dreams of taking down a gpp with a life changing prize pool, my focus is on maximizing the number of entries that are competitive and finishing above the cash line and turning a profit on a more consistent basis. You will hear a lot about building a core group of players and building your lines around it but with MME this is hardly the case.

The goal is to create a player pool of both low and high risk plays, limiting exposure to the high risk plays and using a lineup tool (free or premium works). Using the csv edit option on both sites is the easiest way to enter in all your lineups once you have generated and here are links on how to do this – Fanduel CSV  Draftkings CSV. With that being said, let’s get to our pool for tonight.

I am going to take a bit of a different approach today regarding the player pool selection for tonight’s contests. For starters, I try to avoid talking about all of the boring and overused stats, data, analytics, or whatever other term you may use. Instead, I like to provide my insight from the perspective of a blue-collar worker who has played dfs for the past 9 years, has had multiple GPP take-downs, and has been to 2 live local finals for Fanduel.

So for tonight, I am going to ramble and work through a bit of my  process here as I write this article. Now, before I do anything, I make sure that I have my most current projections sheet open, which you can access here – daily projections. The next thing I do is to check the injury report on each team both through Twitter and Don Best. Now i have some notes to work on and start to analyze value to salary on my projection sheet. I try to keep in mind any narratives such as bobble-head nights or former coaches at the game ( this is my own quirk).

I make a notation of all this on a spreadsheet at which point I find myself with an overwhelming amount of players in my pool – which is great because now the fun comes with deciding which chalk to fade and which punts to play. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to roster every single player in my initial pool but when mass/max multi entering, I want to be sure I am able to get the right amount of exposure to my pool. For example, if my initial pool has 65 players and I have 200 lines going and I set my minimum exposure at 1% of each player, I now have 130 of my lines utilizing every player in my pool. That is a recipe for a negative return on investment and not something I want to risk.

To narrow down the pool I look at the over/under for the game, usage rate (It basically shows which players have the ball in their hands a lot and have the ability to score high fantasy points) projected minutes ( which I now realize I should include on my projection sheets from now on) and price trends – someone who typically hovers around the 6k salary mark but after a few above average games salary jumps to near or above 7k is an auto fade for me. I also get a generalized idea of projected ownership because if  someone like LeBron is expected to be at 40% ownership on a large slate, I will limit my shares.

Once I am set here, I enter my projections into the lineup generator of my choice, adjust my exposure settings – if I am not high on a guy but feel he is in a spot to smash, I will cap his exposure at like 5 percent. If I love someone who I see has a low ownership projection and is looking at near 7x value to salary then I will set a min exposure of about 30 percent and a max of 50. Then it is up to the generator to make my lines and I use the csv option to enter them into Draftkings or Fanduel.

Sorry for the long windiness – now for our player pool. I will list the pool for tonight now that you know my process. James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry, Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kemba Walker, Devin Booker, Jimmy Butler, DeAndre Jordan, Demar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry, Zach Lavine, DeAndre Ayton, Trae Young, Marc Gasol, Kyle Kuzma, Caris LeVert (still underpriced), Clint Capela, Taurean Prince, Lonzo ball, Goran Dragic, Cedi Osman, Eric Gordon, Josh Hart, Trey Burke, Jaren Jackson Jr., Javale McGee, Markelle Fultz, Rodney McGruder, Gerald Green, Fred VanVleet, Dorian Finney-Smith, and punt special Damyean Dotson.
