Fantasy Football 2018: 3 Streaming Quarterbacks for Week 8
By Bill Pivetz
If you are looking for a replacement quarterback for Week 8, here are three with good match-ups worth adding to your fantasy football team.
With the fantasy football regular season about halfway over, owners are making their playoff pushes. Week 8 features four teams on bye, two of which have quarterbacks widely owned and one more owned in deeper leagues. If you need a replacement for one of those players, here are three quarterbacks worth adding this week.
Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, Dak Prescott and Marcus Mariota are the four quarterbacks unavailable to owners this week. Ryan and Rivers are owned in at least 85 percent of ESPN leagues and over 94 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Prescott is at 29.8 and 35 percent and Mariota is down to 16 and 28 percent, respectively. Even at those low percentages, there are still owners that have them rostered including some two-quarterback leagues.
Mitch Trubisky, CHI
Trubisky is at the top of everyone’s list when looking for a backup quarterback. In the last two games after the six-touchdown game, he has combined for six touchdowns, three interceptions and 649 yards.
Trubisky and the Chicago Bears face the New York Jets at home. The Jets defense has allowed at least 17 fantasy points to quarterbacks over the last four weeks.

Trubisky has been added in 20.6 percent of ESPN leagues over the last week. Though, he’s still available in 37 percent of leagues.
Case Keenum, DEN
Keenum had a couple of good games in Weeks 5 and 6 before coming back down to earth in Week 7. He threw for just 161 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Arizona Cardinals.
Barring a Demaryius Thomas trade, Keenum will have his full arsenal of weapons against the Kansas City Chiefs. Their defense shut down the Cincinnati Bengals last week but are still the 26th-worst defense against quarterbacks.
The first time Keenum played against the Chiefs, he threw for 245 yards and a pick. This time should be different.
Keenum is available in 83 percent of ESPN leagues and 77 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Joe Flacco, BAL
Flacco continues to get disrespected. He has 11 touchdowns and four interceptions this season. The yards may not be there but he’s protecting the ball more than in the past.
Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens travel south to take on the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers secondary has allowed two touchdowns in each of their last five games. The yards haven’t been there but they can be scored on.
Flacco continues to target John Brown, making them a possible contrarian stack in DFS. Don’t be mad if Flacco throws an interception but he should put up a couple of scores in the process.
The waiver wire pool of quarterbacks is not as deep when only two-thirds are rosterable. These three quarterbacks have good weapons, favorable matchups and can put up 20 fantasy points. If you need a backup for this week, target one of these three pass throwers.
