Fantasy football 2018: top 10 waiver wire Week 8 pickups
Fantasy football owners may find it difficult to find true sleepers as they near the mid-week point of the season, but with players like Marlon Mack and Nick Chubb on the rise, there’s still value to be found.
Running backs Marlon Mack, Indianapolis Colts, and James White, New England Patriots, gave fantasy football owners 30 points apiece with massive Week 7 performances. Several other players, including Latavius Murray and Tyrell Williams, stayed hot by delivering big-time for any fantasy owners gutsy enough to play them.
The first half of the 2018 NFL season is rapidly coming to a close, so fantasy owners are close to getting rid of any players who have disappointed them for seven weeks. Replacements aren’t easy to find, but there are some players available in most leagues that are worth monitoring going forward, with most owners placing emphasis on running backs.
Injuries can open up opportunities for a backup player, but we’ve also seen the likes of Mack and Nick Chubb gain a starting position after the previous starter failed to meet expectations. Mack has made Nyheim Hines’s anemic yards per carry average almost obsolete in the Indianapolis Colts, while Chubb’s fantasy value skyrocketed after Carlos Hyde was traded, with Hyde now eating into T.J. Yeldon’s (and potentially Leonard Fournette’s) fantasy value.
Here are ten possible waiver wire additions for Week 8, and fantasy owners are hoping that value can still be acquired on waivers.
