- Last Season:Ā 23-12, Lost in second round of NIT
- Notable Losses:Ā Troy Brown, Elijah Brown, MiKyle McIntosh
- Notable Additions:Ā Bol Bol, Louis King, Will Richardson, Miles Norris
After falling just short of making the NCAA Tournament last season and then having a disappointing run in the NIT, the Oregon Ducks actually suffered some substantial departures from last yearās team. The most notable of the group is Troy Brown, who was taken in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft. With two other double-digit scorers, Elijah Brown and MiKyle McIntosh, also gone, dealing with those losses would be hard to contend with for many programs.
Having said that, Dana Altman is bringing in one of the most impressive recruiting classes that Oregon has seen in quite some time and this team will go as far as their star-studded freshman class can take them. At the forefront of that is Bol Bol, son of Manute Bol and a potential lottery pick for the NBA Draft. With a 7-foot-2 frame and tremendous length, Bol can also stretch the floor and be a threat against any defense that the Ducks will face.
Joining Bol will be three other top-100 players, including a top-15 player in forward Louis King. With Kin, Miles Norris and Will Richardson, this is a group of freshman that will have Oregon looking more like Kentucky than Ducks team of the past.
Anchoring this group will be junior point guard Payton Pritchard, who was the leading scorer in Eugene last season. With that experience at the helm of the offense and the immense young talent around him, this Ducks team could make serious noise on a national level.
