High Value C

Players costing $6,250 or under

JaVale McGee (vs DEN – $5,300): Needs 24.5 fantasy points. McGee continued to impress against the Suns and this salary shouldn’t quite scare you off. The matchup is a tough one, but he remains the only center option in Los Angeles and they’ll need to help out against Jokic and Millsap. Diagnosis: I don’t love the matchup, but McGee is the best player in the world for a reason.

Mohamed Bamba (vs POR – $4,100): Needs fantasy points. Bamba hasn’t done much since his debut and his minutes have reflected that. The potential is there and maybe he gets more playing time against a Portland team with some big bodies. But, as always, trusting rookies is always a risky option. Diagnosis: High risk and the reward probably isn’t high enough. But I like him as a player.

Mason Plumlee (at LAL – $3,900): Needs 18 fantasy points. Plumlee is coming off a 27.7 fantasy point effort against the Kings. He played more minutes as the Nuggets ran away with things. He might play more against the Lakers due to their lack of size, which is my logic going into Thursday. He’s still going to get minutes, which is a good thing. Diagnosis: Good matchup and have the potential to really hurt the Lakers.
