Fantasy Football, Week 8: High value plays for FanDuel
By Dylan Broady
Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts, $8,300
Stats: 1,948 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, 8 INT
You know, Andrew Luck is a great guy, amazing leader and truly someone you can’t seem to dislike. Luck has carried this Colts team on his back week in and week out in 2018. So much negativity towards his previously injured shoulder. A lot of speculation has turned into plenty of love for this quarterback. Whether you’re a Colts fan or not, Luck has warmed your football heart with his incredible play and sportsmanship this season.
Nobody else comes to mind when thinking about a better all around top notch football gentleman. Luck thanks you for hitting him hard, encourages you when you make a huge play to stop him, and his character is flawless, his on-field play has nearly been that as well, considering he’s carrying the entire offense on his back. Luck has 20 touchdowns in the seven games he has played. That’s 2nd-ranked in the entire NFL.
The only player he is behind in that category? Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. So consider this for a moment: if Luck only lacks two scores behind a player the entire NFL is gushing about, while breaking records, shouldn’t we also be thinking of Luck on a higher level? Luck has thrown the ball a record of times in the first seven games of a season. (311 attempts) With Mack healthy and the Colts being balanced on every level, this team will only get better with time.
Week 8 Luck has another great matchup against the Oakland Raiders who are completely lost already in 2018. Gruden must know something we don’t. Trading away stars like Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper have the football world pondering if Gruden should’ve returned at all to the sidelines. With Luck playing once again on a high level, along with a real running game, the Colts will look to rout another lackluster AFC team with their newfound balance on Sunday.
Prediction: 305 passing yards, 3 touchdowns
