The midway point of the NFL season is approaching, and the Week 8 slate of games provides us with a chance to learn more about the contenders.

As always, all lines are courtesy of OddsShark.

Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans (-7.5)

The Texans (4-3) have the most unimpressive four-game winning streak in NFL history. However, the Dolphins (4-3) are trotting Brock Osweiler and a bunch of nobody receivers out there. It’s going to be tough winning with Osweiler on a short week away from home.

Pick: Houston 23, Miami 19

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (London)

The Jaguars (3-4) and Eagles (3-4) both desperately need to win. Unfortunately for Jacksonville, Philadelphia has a quarterback who can make some plays. The Jaguars are going to play tough in this game, but they just aren’t good enough offensively to do damage.

Pick: Philadelphia 24, Jacksonville 9

Baltimore Ravens (-2) at Carolina Panthers

This line is perplexing. The Ravens (4-3) are good, but are they five points better on a neutral field than the Panthers (4-2)? Carolina just beat Philadelphia on the road and while it took a massive comeback, the Panthers pulled it off. This should be one of week’s best games, and it could come down to Graham Gano from deep.

Pick: Carolina 19, Baltimore 17

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-8)

The Steelers (3-2-1) are coming off their bye week while the Browns (2-4-1) are trying to figure out what coaching is. Pittsburgh is getting into the time when it typically gets hot, while Cleveland is trying to win in Heinz Field with Baker Mayfield and receivers who keep dropping passes.

Pick: Pittsburgh 30, Cleveland 20
