5 bold Premier League predictions: Cardiff stun Liverpool at Anfield
It’s time for matchweek 10 of the Premier League. There are plenty of exciting games to watch. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.
There’s another Premier League weekend to look forward which is full of some great fixtures. Tottenham host Manchester City on Monday night while Cardiff, fresh off their first win of the season, face a difficult away trip to Anfield.
Arsenal will look to extend their winning run in the Premier League to eight matches when they travel to face Crystal Palace. Fulham host Bournemouth in what feels like a must-win game for the Cottagers and Burnley will try to stop Maurizio Sarri’s unbeaten Chelsea side.

Cardiff were one of the last teams in the Premier League to register a win as they saw off Fulham 4-2 last weekend. The Bluebirds have struggled so far but that victory might have given them a bit of confidence — something they’ll need as they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.
Liverpool are still unbeaten in the Premier League and although they’re no longer sitting top, Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking very clinical. Their 1-0 victory over Huddersfield last week was the performance of a team that knows how to win rather than that of the stylish Liverpool from last season.
The longer the Reds maintain their unbeaten streak the more they will grow in confidence and hopefully they’ll regain some of that amazing form which saw them tear teams apart last year.
This match should be a no-brainer with Cardiff’s defense being extremely suspect so far this season. Neil Warnock’s side have got one of the worst defensive records in the league having conceded 19 goals in their opening nine games.
It’s likely then that Liverpool’s forwards should have a field day against this struggling back line. Klopp’s side bagged four in midweek against Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) and they’ll be hoping for more goals on Saturday.
Cardiff won’t magically become good after one win but they’ve got that stat out of their mind now and they can start to accumulate points without the pressure of having to go out to win the match. This kind of match is one where the weaker side can express themselves a bit as they’re not expected to win.
Cardiff will do this, like they tried to at Chelsea, and they will give Liverpool a shock. Josh Murphy and Callum Paterson will both find the net for the Bluebirds who will deliver one of the biggest upsets of the weekend as they win 2-1 at Anfield.
