3. Bournemouth beat Fulham in five-goal thriller

One of the biggest surprises of the Premier League season so far is Bourmeouth’s early form. The Cherries have been sensational so far and their great run sees them sitting in 6th place. This weekend they travel to Craven Cottage to play Fulham as they look to continue this run.

Fulham are struggling big time and right now it’s hard to see their manager, Slavisa Jokanovic, staying in his job much longer – especially considering the amount of money he spent on players in the summer transfer window.

The problem for Fulham is not going forward but instead their defensive capabilities. At the back, the Cottagers look nervous and this was demonstrated by Cardiff last week who managed to put four past the London side.

It feels like they don’t necessarily have bad defenders but they’re being aggressive enough for the Premier League. Some of the goals they conceded against Arsenal and Cardiff involved opposition players having far too much time on the ball without really being challenged.

This needs to change if Fulham are to stand a chance of winning matches in the top flight. Bournemouth have proven that they can score goals, netting 16 this season already, but they’ve also conceded 12 in their opening nine games.

Therefore, if Fulham can combine their good play going forward with some more physical and better performances at the back then they might stand a chance of winning a game like this. This weekend it’s probably a bit early to expect the finished article from the Cottagers though.

The game should have lots of goalmouth action and if we’re going by form a Bournemouth victory looks most likely. Eddie Howe’s side will run out 3-2 winners in what should be a highly entertaining end-to-end match.
