4. David Beaty: Kansas

One thing to keep an eye on in the Big 12 is whether or not the Kansas Jayhawks are going to pick up a conference win this season. They’ve already landed at the bottom of the standings in the conference, and that should be it for Beaty.

In his fourth season as head coach of a program that has only seen five total wins thus far in his tenure, Beaty needs substantial progress soon. Picking up two wins at the beginning of the season out of conference looked like Kansas was on their way.

Unfortunately, they’ve fallen back to their old ways and simply took advantage of some terrible opponents. Beaty belongs in the already doomed category because it’s hard to imagine the program showing any more patience.

They’ve extended enough by giving him a fourth year and not pulling the plug after three abhorrent years. However, finishing last in the conference and nothing to build on is going to be a tough sell for a fifth year.

The best bet for Kansas to take a conference game is at home, and they host TCU this week. The odds are against the Jayhawks once again and Beaty’s seat is firmly ablaze.
