11. Ohio State – Idle. The Buckeyes had the week off as they nurse their wounds after suffering their first loss of the year last week at Purdue. It wasn’t just a loss, it was a blowout that was eerily reminiscent of the 35-point loss to Iowa last year that kept Ohio State out of the playoff. Even if Ohio State wins out, I have doubts they’ll make the four-team playoff because of how ugly that loss was to Purdue. They’ll look to take out some residual frustration and anger out on Nebraska on Saturday.

12. Kentucky (W 15-1 Missouri) – The cardiac cats found a way to win again. Kentucky needed 12 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and a defensive pass interference penalty to give them one untimed down at the end of the game to get the game-winning touchdown. The Cats host Georgia next Saturday with the SEC East hanging in the balance just like we all anticipated in August.

13. West Virginia (W 58-14 Baylor) – The Mountaineers got healthy against Baylor in a Thursday night game that was over before it really even started. Will Grier tossed for 353 yards and three touchdowns. David Sills and Gary Jennings, Jr both topped the 100-yard receiving mark and had a pair of scores a piece in the dominant win.

14. Washington State (W 41-38 Stanford) – The Cougs are atop the Pac-12 North after their big comeback win against Stanford. Quarterback Gardner Minshew has played his way into the Heisman conversation and boosted his NFL Draft profile at the same time. He threw for 438 yards and three touchdowns on 40-of-50 passing and led the team to the game-winning field goal on a drive he made a few dazzling throws as part of a near-flawless second half.

15. Washington (L 10-12 California) – The Huskies fell for the third time this year, ending their shot at a Pac-12 title. This has been a lost season for Washington who benched Jake Browning for Jake Haener who threw the decisive pick-six to lose the game. The defense is legit but the Huskies offense was atrocious in this game.
