Week 9 is really going to bring the hammer down as far as bye weeks go so this is a great week to beat the Fantasy Football Waiver Wire and stash some players on Saturday!

With a whopping eight teams on a bye next week, it would be a great move to try and plan ahead and get a head start on the Fantasy Football Waiver Wire. We’re here to highlight some of the players that might be able to help weather the storm of the Bye-Pocolypse and keep your team on the path to a title!

Doug Martin/Jalen Richard – RBs, Oakland Raiders – I’m not sure if people forgot that Marshawn Lynch is on the injured reserve since it happened when the Raiders were on their bye last week, but these two aren’t owned enough yet. Richard is under 60 percent and Martin is hovering right at 50 on Yahoo. Is it gross investing in Martin? Sure, but someone has to carry the ball in Oakland and Richard was involved in the passing game before Amari Cooper left. Even if you just have to start them one time, against the 49ers this week isn’t a bad time to do it.

More from FanSided

Elijah McGuire – RB, New York Jets – This is a bit of a speculative add, but it appears the McGuire has a great chance of being activated of the IR this week when he’s first eligible. McGuire showed some ability last year in limited work, especially in the passing game where he averaged 11.1 yards per reception. With Bilal Powell being out for the year, the Jets will be looking for a back to compliment Isaiah Crowell. McGuire should be that player starting as soon as this week and he walks into a dynamite matchup at the Miami Dolphins.

Geronimo Allison – WR, Green Bay Packers – Allison was one of my favorite adds off the wire this past week but he’s still hanging out in over half of your leagues. He’s going to continue to be a downfield threat for Aaron Rodgers, has a clean bill of health and has two great matchups in a row. He gets the highest over/under game this week against the Rams and then draws the New England Patriots at New England next week. The Packers are going to have to put up a ton of points and Allison should see at least his seven-ish targets that he had been seeing prior to the injury.

Tre’Quan Smith – WR, New Orleans Saints – I’ve been beating the drum for Smith as he appears to be the number two receiver for the Saints now. He gets a great matchup in the dome next week against the Rams(bet the over) and I’m still ecstatic about his schedule in the fantasy playoffs. At. Tampa in Week 14 and then against Pittsburgh in championship week(if you play in Week 17, tell your league to change it next season) lines up very well for Smith.

Jack Doyle – TE, Indianapolis Colts – This one is an exception to the rule for Week 9 but Jack Doyle can be such a difference maker that he’s worth it. Before he suffered his hip injury, Doyle was running the most routes of any tight end and was heavily targeted. He’s well worth holding onto through the bye week, especially given the position that he plays. Even if he doesn’t return to his top five status, Doyle is an every week starter.
