No. 2 Laquon Treadwell vs New Orleans

On the flipside of Cameron Meredith, I like Treadwell this week. We know Thielen and Diggs. Treadwell should be developing into the right third option in that offense. He should be. Is he? No. The targets are there and I think that trends upwards but Treadwell still hasn’t passed four catches in a game this season and has yet to catch for more than 50 yards either. Not good signs.

So this is a flyer sleeper, hand up here. I’m thinking big and bold this weekend. I’ve mentioned the matchup. The Saints secondary is still struggling. They went out and got Eli Apple. Things don’t change overnight and the Vikings are finding form and sit atop the NFC North after two straight losses by the Bears.

Treadwell has blazing speed but likely ends up in the slot more often than not. If he can develop into a top target over the middle and hit some pockets when the Saints go single high coverage, I like the way this trends. Treadwell is a production powerhouse, or was at Ole Miss. In 2015 he nearly doubled his career high and finished with 82 receptions for 1153 yards and 11 touchdowns, more touchdowns than he put up the two years prior.

This is a risk but this is fantasy. We like risks, we feel great when risks pay off. Will Treadwell pay off this week? Let’s find out.
