The Indiana Hoosiers were presented with a very winnable game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Friday. Minnesota was in the midst of a four-game losing streak and Indiana was fresh off of a close game against Penn State. However, Indianaās losing streak has been extended to four games after the Hoosiers couldnāt keep up with Minnesota.
Speaking of Minnesota, the Golden Gophers have ended that four-game losing streak! The 38-31 win over the Indiana Hoosiers for P.J. Fleckās team put bowl eligibility right back within reach. Minnesota is 4-4 on the year and has games against Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, and Wisconsin up ahead.
Thereās no guarantee that Minnesota will actually become bowl eligible this season. The Golden Gophers fell apart against Nebraska and Maryland, losing to the two teams by a combined 54 points. But, this season is still salvageable. Itās going to be difficult for Minnesota to do, but the Golden Gophers can continue to get this season going in the direction that they want it to go.
Nebraska officially has two wins this year after the Cornhuskers demolished Bethune-Cookman by a score of 45-9. The Cornhuskers have some momentum going in their direction and are currently on a two-game winning streak. That winning streak might have a hard time continuing as Nebraska goes to No. 8 Ohio State this weekend.
