Terry Wilson has taken his fair share of criticism in Lexington this season, but he made a huge play for the Wildcats this weekend. His touchdown pass on the last play of the game gave Kentucky a huge upset win at Missouri.Ā The win is more impressive when you consider the rough day Benny Snell experienced. The Tigers’ defense bottled him up for just 67 yards on 19 carries. The fact that Kentucky gutted out a win without him having a big day is a testament to their defensive talent and overall toughness.

The demise of Georgia has been greatly exaggerated. Just because they played a bad football game in Baton Rouge two weeks ago doesn’t mean they aren’t the best team in the SEC East. They squashed Florida to remind everyone of that fact on Saturday.Ā The most interesting aspect of the win was Jake Fromm’s solid play at quarterback. Two weeks after most Georgia fans were ready to hand the offense over to Justin Fields, Fromm put together a clinical performance. He’s never going to win a Heisman Trophy in Athens, but he’s a solidly above average SEC signal caller.

Something just seems right about LSU and Alabama both getting a week off to prepare for next week’s clash in Baton Rouge. Ed Orgeron should have used his practice time working with Joe Burrow to find a way to move the ball against Nick Saban’s defense.Ā In fairness to the Tigers, it might only take a big play or two to win the game. LSU needs it to be a low scoring affair if they’re going to win. They can’t match the Crimson Tide in a shootout. One or two big throws for Burrow might be enough to pull off the upset.

Expect to hear a lot of talk about how Nick Saban kept his team focused on themselves during the bye week. That’s probably the same thing the players heard on the practice field. However, it’s an absolute lock that Saban spent a lot of time this week watching LSU film.Ā Giving him an extra week to prepare for a game could be a recipe for big-time success for the Tide. This will, however, represent the biggest challenge of Tua Tagavailoa’s collegiate career. He might even play into the fourth quarter next Saturday.
