High Salary C
Players costing over $6,250
Joel Embiid (vs ATL – $10,000): Needs 46.5 fantasy points. Embiid had 52 fantasy points against the Hornets on Oct. 27. The return of Dedmon has been big for the Hawks, but he won’t be enough to slow down Embiid on Monday. Embiid had 58 fantasy points in his lone game against Atlanta last season. Diagnosis: He’ll dominate the undersized Hawks, even with Dedmon in the lineup.
Karl-Anthony Towns (vs LAL – $8,400): Needs 39.1 fantasy points. I’ve stayed away from Towns throughout this season as he hasn’t given me a reason to trust him. He’s averaging just 40.7 fantasy points on the year and has been under value in five of six games. But the Lakers are a good matchup with their lack of size and if Towns is going to deliver, this would be the game for him to do so. He’s a risk, but the reward is very high as we know what he’s capable of. Diagnosis: High risk, high reward player. The matchup is right for him to have his best game of the season.
Hassan Whiteside (vs SAC – $7,700): Needs 35.8 fantasy points. Whiteside has been good early in the season, going over value in four of five games. He’s a double-double threat every night with his rebounding and chips in with defense. The Kings should always be taken advantage of. Diagnosis: The matchup is good and Whiteside should produce another double-double.
