The NFL Trade deadline is right around the corner which means some of last week’s breakout fantasy football performers could be in line for more work.

This year has been a more active trade season than most years. We have seen a few big name players like Amari Cooper already traded. It’s possible we could see even more fireworks with names like Le’Veon Bell, LeSean McCoy and Demaryius Thomas getting thrown around.

Any trade will have an impact on the fantasy football season. If someone like McCoy is traded it would boost his stock while also opening up an opportunity for someone on the Buffalo Bills roster.

A lack of a trade could also be important. If the Steelers fail to move Bell and he returns to the team it could hurt James Connor’s fantasy value. This could be a situation where an owner is sitting at the top of the standings but loses his top player.

Some of the players on this week’s list of breakout fantasy football performers features players who could benefit from a trade.

A team like the Denver Broncos have some young wide receivers who could step into a spot opened by a trade of Demaryius Thomas. However, if Thomas stays on the roster those players become less attractive for fantasy purposes.

The Philadelphia Eagles saw one of their young running backs have a strong performance. However, they are one of the teams that could add a veteran running back via trade. This would obviously hurt the potential of guys like Wendell Smallwood, Corey Clement and Josh Adams.
