Is Manifest new tonight, October 29?
Manifest airs Mondays at 10:00 p.m. on NBC but the show will not air on Oct. 29 and will instead return on Monday, Nov. 5.
Manifest is by far the surprise hit of the 2018 fall television season, and for good reason. Monday nights have been taken over by Flight 828’s passengers and their plight as they seek out answers about their five year absence while trying to repair the relationships left behind. Though the show normally airs on Monday nights, it will skip Oct. 29 and instead return on Monday, Nov. 5.
Unlike Lost, which focused on members of a plane crash and the unknown forces inhabiting their new desert island home, Manifest doesn’t focus so much on the plane (because it blew up days after landing) and instead focuses on the passengers as they struggle to find meaning in their new lives.
What’s more is that the story is equally about the flight’s passengers as well as the loved ones they left behind. As fans are starting to learn, what happened back home over those five years is just as important as what happened to the people who were gone.
In the last episode, “Connecting Flights,” the audience followed Grace, Olive and Jared’s journeys during the five years while Ben and Cal followed a mysterious voice that said “It’s all connected.” As it happens, Cal uttered those same words at the end of the episode when we see a flashback on the plane. Everyone is sleeping except for Cal, and when a bright light appears in the skies outside, Cal looks out and says that “it’s all connected.”
Looking ahead to the next all-new episode on Nov. 5, the show’s growing mythology deepens as we learn more about that light and what it all means for both the passengers and those they left behind.
Manifest returns Monday, Nov. 5 at 10:00 p.m. on NBC.
