With Halloween on the horizon, here’s a look at some of the best, scariest and most creative costumes around the NHL.

NHL stars; they’re just like us! Especially when it comes to celebrating holidays such as Halloween in wicked costumes.

Many of the league’s best were out-and-about last weekend, attending team parties, bars or various other celebrations in full costume and wow, did they ever look great! Players around the league went all out for Halloween this year.

Here is a collection of the NHL’s best Halloween costumes of 2018.

Conor McDavid and his girlfriend Lauren Kyle absolutely knocked Halloween out of the park with their Homer and Marge costumes. McDavid’s unusually happy looking smile is courtesy of the Oilers riding a three game win streak.

Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Alex Radulov threw it back to everyone’s favorite Nintendo game this Halloween. These Mario Kart costumes were spot on, including undersized vehicles that the three rode around in. Thought I don’t remember Yoshi having such hairy arms.

This guy clearly isn’t an NHL player, but he’s well on his way to being a feared mascot like his idol Gritty! This Gritty costume is on point and also one of hundreds, as the Flyers monster is going to be a 2018 Halloween staple among hockey fans everywhere.

Shake n’ bake, boys! Ottawa’s ā€œstarsā€ had themselves a Talladega night in these Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton Jr. costumes. Please tell me they had Jean-Gabriel Pageau dressed as French racing rival, Jean Girard.

The Golden Knights were all celebrating Halloween down in Vegas with a variety of great costumes. Avid gamer Wild Bill Karlsson and his girlfriend Emily Ferguson went as Fortnite characters (spot on costume).

Erik Haula showed he could be tamed by his fiancĆ©e Kristen Boege. The two recently got engaged, so their costumes are fitting in more ways than one (That’s a joke within a joke. #Jokeception).

Finally, Marc AndrƩ Fleury and his wife VƩronique Larosee Fleury went as residents of his previous playing city, Pittsburgh.

Alex Ovechkin and his beautiful wife Nastya lit up their Halloween party in these firefighter outfits. Naturally, Ovi celebrated Halloween by singing a kareoke version of ā€œWe Are the Champions,ā€ in case anyone missed it the first 2,867 times he sang it.

What exactly was Noel Acciari going for with his take on Aquaman? Aquaman who lives in a cave underneath the water (a grotto?) and hangs out with dinosaurs, maybe. The rest of the crew went a little more accurate with the hair, including Brandon Carlo, who looks like actual Superman. Have they recast Henry Cavill’s role yet?

Max Domi and Tomas Tatar hit the Montreal streets over the weekend dressed as their favorite Monsters Inc. characters Sully and Boo. These two went all in on the costumes, which included both blue and green faces to match the bodies. They can expect some backlash from monsters, as this type of insensitive behavior is not tolerated in 2018.

Kyle Dubas and William Nylander dressed as themselves this Halloween after finally reaching an agreement that works for both parties. Wait. This isn’t actually them?

As you can see, the NHL is all about that Halloween action. The more these posts roll in, hte more relatable our favorite hockey stars seem. If nothing else, they’re setting the costume bar high. If you’re waiting to celebrate on the 31st, step your game up.
