With six teams on bye in Week 9, fantasy football owners will be digging through the waiver wire. Here are some wide receivers to target this week.

Fantasy football owners will be digging through the waiver wire as they try to fill their lineups for Week 9. This is the first of two weeks with six teams on bye week. Don’t expect a lot of high scoring games in your matchup, especially those in deeper leagues.

The Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles are all on bye. That eliminates a lot of good players to use in your lineups.

Wide receivers like Larry Fitzgerald, A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, T.Y. Hilton, Odell Beckham, Alshon Jeffery, Golden Tate (again) and others will be unavailable to owners. If you are an owner with at least one of those wide receivers or are dealing with an injury, here are some widely available receivers to pick up for Week Ā 9.

All five of these receivers are owned in less than 25 percent of ESPN leagues and 35 percent of Yahoo leagues. You don’t need to own these receivers all season, just a week or two to get you through the bye weeks.

Willie Snead, BAL

John Brown may be the big playmaker in the Baltimore Ravens offense but Snead is getting a lot of looks. He’s been targeted 28 times over the last three games.

The Ravens offense was stifled by the Carolina Panthers but they should bounce back this week in what should be a high-scoring game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Michael Crabtree and Brown are capable of having big games but Snead has had at least five catches in five of the eight games this season.

Tre’Quan Smith, NO

With Ted Ginn placed on the IR, Smith is stepping up as the New Orleans Saints No. 2 wide receiver. He exploded on the scene in Week 5 but has been held in check in Weeks 7 and 8, a combined 62 yards on six receptions.

Smith and the Saints face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9. That should be a high-scoring affair so get all the Saints in your lineups.

Courtland Sutton, DEN

The Denver Broncos offense doesn’t seem able to sustain a consistent running game. This puts the pressure of scoring on Case Keenum and the receivers. As a result, Sutton has been able to put up valuable points.

He’s scored an average of 9.8 PPR points over the last four weeks. The Broncos get the Houston Texans in Week 9. Both teams should score a lot of points, making Sutton a flex play in deep leagues.

With the trade of Demaryius Thomas, Sutton should see a bigger role in the Broncos offense. Pick him up if he’s still available.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, GB

Valdes-Scantling has scored at least 12 PPR points over the last week. He’s creeping up the Green Bay depth chart. However, Aaron Rodgers has a lot of mouths to feed with Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison, Jimmy Graham andĀ Valdes-Scantling.

He has accounted for 100 receiving yards or a touchdown in each of Green Bay’s past three games.Ā Valdes-Scantling should have no issues repeating those numbers in Week 9 against the New England Patriots, a defense that allows 33.9 fantasy points per game to wide receivers.

D.J. Moore, CAR

Moore had the best fantasy game of his career with five catches for 90 yards and two carries for 39 yards. He is clearly better than Torrey Smith and should be starting opposite of Devin Funchess.

The Panthers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. Moore and the rest of the Panthers should have an easy time racking up yards and points.

These five receivers have seen their fantasy value rise over the last couple of weeks. Whether it’s injuries or bye weeks, these receivers need to be owned in more leagues. PPR leagues make even the third or fourth wide receiver a worthy addition.
