Hey guys! I’m back with the articles! I apologize for last week, a little hectic, but lets get back in to Fantasy Football and see what we should be watching for in Week 9!

The Trade Deadline Switch Up!

The trade deadline is happening Tuesday, today, and we always expect some crazy trades to get done but usually it doesn’t happen. But so far we have seen DeMaryius Thomas get traded to the Houston Texans for a fourth round pick and his first game will actually be against the Denver Broncos. Can we say awkward. Also the Detroit Lions have traded Golden Tate to the Philadelphia Eagles, yes another trade to Philly. Already a few mix ups for some offenses and the Dallas Cowboys still traded a first round pick for Amari Cooper. Le’Veon Bell will not be traded though, one less person we have to worry about, due to the fact that he still hasn’t signed his tag at the 1 p.m. deadline.

Adam Thielen Continued Dominance

We’re 8 weeks into the NFL Season and Adam Thielen has yet to go below a hundred receiving yards in any of his games. Will he be shut down this week? Probably not. Thielen will be facing the Detroit Lions who rank 7th in pass defense, allowing 223 yards per game. But Thielen has Stefon Diggs, Kyle Rudolph, and a good run game to help keep all of the attention off of him. Thielen is catching 77% of what is thrown his way and is 75 yards away from breaking 1,000 yards on the season already. With 8 more games left in the season, Thielen could potentially be on record watch with breaking Calvin Johnson‘s record of 1,964 yards in one season. Also against the number one wide receiver, the Lions are ranked 30th in defending them which makes this a prime spot once again for Thielen.

Another Tight End To Exploit The Buccaneers

Carolina Panthers, Greg OIsen, is in line for a great match this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Olson has had back to back weeks of scoring. He doesn’t receive the targets that he once used too or even the yards but against this Buccaneers defense, he should see all three on Sunday. The Buccaneers rank 31st in pass defense, giving up 318 yards per game and an average of 89 yards to tight ends with a score, Olsen should exploit the Buccaneers easily. With the Panthers offense in full motion and rolling easily, just wait and see how bad this game can get as the Buccaneers still can’t figure out their defense or their own offense.

Can Todd Gurley II Be Stopped?

Simply answered, no. Todd Gurley II has been on a roll, a very dangerous roll at that and this week will probably be no different even with it being against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints rank first in stopping the run with only giving up 74 yards per game. But Gurley isn’t just a running-back, he’s a passing back also which the Saints rank 28th against and rank 29th against running backs in the passing game. So even if they can slow Gurley down from running, he should continue his dominance in the passing game, especially if Cooper Kupp is out. Word is that Kupp will play but he has been battling a sprained MCL since Week 6 and we should know more coming Sunday.

Is Fitzmagic Back?

Announced already, Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fitzpatrick came in during Week 8 and threw for 2 touchdowns off of 15 attempts. This week he gets to face the Carolina Panthers who rank 17th and only allow 255 yards through the air. The Panthers do shut down the wide receivers but Fitzpatrick can look to do his magic and most of the damage with his tight ends and running-backs, the two main positions that the Panthers struggle against stopping through the air. We can assume a very flip-flopping offense with the Buccaneers if Fitzpatrick struggles this week and continues to do so. This is an offense to avoid until they can get situated with their own identity.
