NFL trade rumors: Chiefs want Janoris Jenkins

The Kansas City Chiefs currently hold the top seed in the AFC, and could look to make a run at the Super Bowl by adding some pieces at the trade deadline.
The Kansas City Chiefs are currently 7-1, and hold the top spot in the AFC. If the Chiefs were to nab that first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoff that would be a big help to them.
In order to keep that top seed they’ll have to keep the New England Patriots at bay, and by the looks of things the only way that’s going to happen is if the Chiefs keep winning. Earlier this season the Chiefs were looking to acquire All-Pro safety Earl Thomas from the Seattle Seahawks to bolster their defense. After his injury that went out the window and forced the Chiefs to look elsewhere.
With the trade deadline quickly approaching it looks like the Chiefs may zero in on another defender to help them make a championship run.

The Chiefs have some interest in New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins. The Giants season is effectively over after starting the season 1-7 and are headed into full rebuild mode. Jenkins could help a defense that is currently 29th in pass defense. Another good corner also wouldn’t be a bad idea considering that the Chiefs opponents throw the ball almost 67 percent of the time.

Jenkins is under contract for two more years so it wouldn’t be a rental for the Chiefs, but he’s slated to make $10 million next season so who knows if they want to pay that kind of money the next couple of seasons.
If they are willing to make that commitment acquiring a Pro Bowl corner that has proven in the past to be able to shut down receivers could be a huge addition for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
