7. This is the End

This is the End was written, co-produced and directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg in their directorial debuts, making this film something special. Not only is it hilarious, but Rogen teams up with some of the funniest men in Hollywood: James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson.

The film follows each man through a “global biblical apocalypse.” Goldberg told Redditors the initial inspiration for the movie was this:

"We always wanted to do a movie where people played themselves and something extraordinary happened; the initial version of the film was Seth Rogen and Busta Rhymes were filming a music video and a film respectively, on the Sony lot, and Antmen attacked from the center of the earth."

The film grossed $126 million, making it an undoubted success.

8. Neighbors

Neighbors (and the sequel Neighbors 2) gets a special place on this list partly because Zac Efron is in it, but I digress. For once, Rogen doesn’t play the stoner trouble-making lazy guy, he’s the responsible middle-aged husband and father looking to protect his and his wife’s sanity from a frat house that moves in next door.

The film grossed $270 million worldwide, and is currently Rogen’s highest grossing live-action movie to date, which is a pretty damn sweet milestone. Two years after Neighbors hit the big screen, the sequel debuted and that flick grossed $108 million worldwide.

The infamous kiss between Rogen and Efron was even nominated for the MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss. They didn’t win though.
