The Detroit Lions went intoĀ  their game against the Seattle Seahawks as the favorites, considering they were playing at home, and were coming off a dominating victory on the road against the Miami Dolphins the week before. Prior to that, the Lions had their bye week, which was right after they beat the Green Bay Packers in a huge NFC North matchup.

The thing with the Lions is you never know what you are going to get from week to week, but they do have a stellar quarterback in Matthew Stafford. When you are as good as Stafford is under center, your team should be in every game, but this defense has shown that it can be downright bad at times.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Lions are definitely getting older up front, and it would make sense to use their first round pick in 2019 on a defensive lineman. There is so much talent at the position in this draft class, but in Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat, you could get a guy who can do so much for your defense up front.

Not only is Sweat solid against the run, but he is also one of the more versatile defensive linemen in this draft class, as he can also get the edge. This Lions defense has a lot of questions heading into the offseason, so adding a player like Sweat would give them a solid, young guy up front they can count on for the next five seasons.
